It seems that the Twitter and LinkedIn updates go hand-in-hand as they have once again been updated today for BlackBerry 10 devices. The new updates ring in at 10.0.3/10.1.3 for each (depending on your OS) and bring along some updated features and various fixes.

It's always good to see updates for big apps like these and we'll take them any day of the week. Both will be populating in BlackBerry World over the next 24 hours, so if you don't see the updates available just yet then check back a bit later.

LinkedIn v2.2 for BlackBerry OS smartphones brings BBM integration and company pages

Although I still struggle to see the draw in using LinkedIn, millions of people everyday log on to the site. If you're among them and using your BlackBerry to access the services, you'll be pleased to know a new LinkedIn is now available for BlackBerry OS smartphones. While it's just a small jump into v2.2, it's a pretty important update especially if you like to pay attention to a lot of company pages. The ability to follow those pages has finally been added and to go along with it, there is also BBM integration which will update your BBM status with your LinkedIn updates, if you do so wish. Again, this update is only for BlackBerry OS smartphones and you'll find the link below.

We've been waiting patiently for updates for some official apps for BlackBerry 10, and today we get a treat as both LinkedIn and Twitter have been updated for BlackBerry 10 devices. Both updates bring some new features that should make users very happy. I was hoping for a Facebook update to go along with them, but I guess that one's not quite ready yet. You should see the updates available in BlackBerry World within the next 24 hours, so if you aren't seeing them just yet, don't panic.

Linkedin for BlackBerry smartphones updated - but we need more from it

LinkedIn got a welcome update over the weekend to version 2.1.0.37 but unfortunately the improvements were pretty minor. The new features just include contact sync & login improvements and although this is a step in the right direction it isn't quite enough for me.

While it is great that we now have a LinkedIn application for BlackBerry smartphones it's still lagging behind in terms of functionality compared to the Android and iOS versions. What I need from the app is proper notifications. If I have the app on my BlackBerry I don't want to get and email telling me I have message - I want the app to tell me and give me a Splat.

Good news for you LinkedIn fans out there. The BlackBerry smartphone app has been updated to version 2.1 bringing some nice new features to the business persons social network.

We have only had this new and improved LinkedIn app for about six weeks so it's great to see an update so soon. I would imagine that with the deep LinkedIn integration in BlackBerry 10 we may see further improvements to the BB6/BB7 version in the future.

A quick hands on with the newly updated LinkedIn app for BlackBerry smartphones

We posted last night that Version 2.0 of the LinkedIn application had been released and now actually works, as opposed to the previous version which didn't seem to like any of my devices. This morning the update showed up for me so I swiftly downloaded it (for free) and it seems that they have made a pretty nice job of things. I clearly have nothing to compare it to but the user interface is friendly, crisp and smooth.

As you will see in the video - the main screen is made up of the 'LinkedIn Today' section at the top and then followed by recent updates. Clicking on the LinkedIn icon in the top left corner takes you to a nice page made up of four large tiles. These are updates, You, Inbox and Network.

Connecting with people and sharing an update works perfectly however I'm not convinced it is perfect as there are no notifications that come with the app, or if there are they do not work. Thanks to a couple of the CrackBerry team members I have sent messages through the app and received an email response but nothing from the app itself. Notifications would be great, but at least we now have an app we can use. Oh well, one step at a time.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry v2.0 is now available for download. It's been quite a while (over a year actually) since we've seen an update for this one, so if you use the app at all you'll be very pleased with the new features. Version 2.0 brings along a new UI, inbox integration and much more.

InLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook 50% off for a limited time

A few weeks back, we informed CrackBerry Nation that a developer was working on an alternative for our current situation of not having a LinkedIn application for the BlackBerry PlayBook. The result being InLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and today that app is on sale. Techfruits, the developers of InLink, have placed their application on sale. The application is now available for 50% off and is priced at just 99 cents. The application gives you access to your LinkedIn profile via a standalone application. The application also uses the BlackBerry 10 BBUI framework that gives the application the look and feel of a native BlackBery 10 app.

During BlackBerry Jam Americas, we got to see the first live demo of the official Facebook application for BlackBerry 10. The developers promised that all of the big social networks, like Twitter, LinkedIn, and foursquare will also have their own native apps at launch. The app itself wasn't particularly different from anything you might see on Android or iOS, handling all of the regular stuff like updating your status (complete with location, pictures, and tags), and running through your news feed, however it is very much improved over what we currently have on BlackBerry devices.

Which social networks would you guys like to see on BlackBerry 10 at launch? There was no mention of Google+, but who knows what could happen between now and launch...

While the BlackBerry line of products are unquestionably the business persons go-to device, we seem to be missing access to one of the most business targeted services out there -- LinkedIn. While you can access LinkedIn via their very mobile friendly website, navigating can sometimes be less than convenient. This is where inLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook comes into the picture. inLink is one of the first applications available on the PlayBook that will give you a glimpse into the way BlackBerry 10 looks. The application uses the bbUI.js toolkit to give an HTML app the native treatment.

If you're a LinkedIn junkie and staying on top of what's happening with your fellow colleagues, as well as your industry, you'll want to take a look at inLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook. If you're anything like me with LinkedIn I would take a look at inLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook. inLink can be bought from BlackBerry App World for $1.99.

ProInsights for BlackBerry PlayBook on sale this weekend only for 50% off

Sometimes it seems like developers just don't listen to consumers, but every once in a while one steps up and reminds us that not only are they listening, but that they actually care about what's being said. Just yesterday Adam told us about ProInsights, an app developed for the BlackBerry PlayBook by XLabz Technologies to transform your LinkedIn account into something you will actually want to use. Combining beautiful visuals and lots of neat innovation, ProInsights had all the elements of a winner. All the elements except however, the price. The developers set the price at $9.99, and were met with a lot of feedback regarding that pricepoint. I think most people are turned off of an app, no matter how beautifully built, that starts out that high without at least a free trial so potential buyers can get a feel for it.

XLabz took all the feedback and decided to put ProInsights on sale this weekend for half off, bringing the cost down to $4.99. The price will return to normal on Monday, so if you're interested in this one but were put off by the price, grab it now while it's on sale.

More information/download of ProInsights for BlackBerry PlayBook

View your LinkedIn profile in style with ProInsights for BlackBerry PlayBook

ProInsights for the BlackBerry PlayBook is a pretty awesome way to view your LinkedIn profile. The app is beautiful from front to back and really shows off the power of the BlackBerry platform. ProInsights makes your LinkedIn profile fun to look at (no, really) as it shows off the various views in the Connection Explorer.

Card Deck: Has the look and feel of a rolodex. Flip through a business-card view of your connections.

Mosaic: Take a trip down memory lane and leaf through a photo-album of your connections
Bird Eye: Get a bird's eye view on your connections plotted geographically on a map. You might just discover that you have a contact in Uganda you had added ages back!

Spring Graph: Gives you a closer look at your Inner Circle. View your contacts in node clusters that link to you by the number of connections that they have. Move your connections around in this highly interactive spring-like view!

While ProInsights will run you $9.99, if you're at all a LinkedIn user it really is amazing to use this app. As the app description states: ProInsights is a powerful application that "reads between the lines" of your LinkedIn profile, churns out meaningful insights and presents them through stunning visuals. While I do wish it was a bit cheaper, fans of LinkedIn will love it to pieces. Check out more at the link below or keep reading for more screenshots.

LinkedIn for Blackberry updated to version 1.5.0.8

For business professionals, LinkedIn is a valuable tool and resource for communication, much like BlackBerry smartphones. Now, BlackBerry users using a BlackBerry 6 compatible device can download the latest release and get in on the action as LinkedIn has just updated to include support for BlackBerry 6. They have also included a new profile layout for users as well, as mentioned on the site:

Profile Design Refresh: Viewing member profiles is the #1 activity users do today in the application. We’ve re-designed the profile completely to make it easier to see and interact with all the information on it, while also adding two new features. We’ve been asked by many users for the ability to view the connections of the people they are connected to, as well as to see who they have in common with people on the site. Those new features are now available right at the top of the profile.

In addition to the BlackBerry 6 compatability and the new profile layout, LinkedIn has also acknowledged that some users are unhappy wih how the app actually closes. Rather, how it doesn't close as it's always running in the background. While it's not in this release, the fix for it will be coming in a later release. But, at least they have now acknowledged that it is an issue and will be addressing it as soon as possible. Thanks Dave Peckens for letting me know!

If you frequent using Linkedin on your BlackBerry you'll wanna make sure you grab the latest version available. Verson 1.2 has been released and this version addresses a lot of concerns users had with the application such as; contact management and battery life. The official words are:

We’ve just released an update focused on performance, battery life and resolving several issues our users were seeing with downloading connections. We made a number of changes to how we handle merging your address book with the BlackBerry Contacts application and other changes that should significantly reduce the battery life issues some users have reported.

Having used the application in the past, I can sure say it did suck back a lot of battery life while in use. Hopefully, this will be the end of those concerns for Linkedin BlackBerry users.

It hasn't been all that long since the release of LinkedIn for BlackBerry and here we are now moving into version 1.0.1. The latest release is a bug fix release that addresses some of the issues users were having with logging in over BIS and Wi-Fi. If you have seen an "Unable to Connect" or "Invalid email or password" error message on the sign-in screen then the latest release is for you. Version 1.0.1 has yet to be pushed through to BlackBerry App World so direct OTA link is available as well as desktop installer files. Please note, if installing over the old version you must reboot your device for the new version to take effect.

The LinkedIn for BlackBerry app has finally been released. We've been hearing the word "soon" all to often when speaking of the application but the wait is finally over now. The interface has a familiar look to it, much like that we've seen in the Facebook and Twitter apps. While the app lacks some of the features of the iPhone version it does meet all the requirements needed to get things done via LinkedIn. All the basics are included, such as: Network Updates, Search, Connections, Invitations, Messages. Give it a run through folks and be sure to leave some comments on how it works for you all. Support shows for Tour, Bold, Curve with OS 4.3 and higher.

WorldMate for BlackBerry Adds Ability to Connect with LinkedIn Contacts - Win 1 of 4 Gold Subscriptions

WorldMate has long been know as the "go-to" app for travelers. With flight alerts, hotel info, itinerary tracking, weather and more, WorldMate stands above the rest. Today they have added another weapon to their arsenal by announcing integration with the popular business network LinkedIn. The new partnership allows WorldMate users to share travel and meeting itineraries, notify contacts when arriving in destination cities, search contacts by city and more.

"This WorldMate integration is a perfect synchronization of our two companies' strengths and goals," said Adam Nash, Vice President of Search & Platform Products at LinkedIn. "LinkedIn's mission is to connect the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful. The Worldmate integration extends our mission by allowing members to access their professional networks when they're on-the-go. WorldMate has taken an innovative approach to our APIs, extending and tying together the LinkedIn experience to both web and mobile."

This makes WorldMate one of the first companies to incorporate with LinkedIn and offer enhanced features. The new tools will definitely keep WorldMate at the top of it's game, and give users multiple options for better staying in touch with business contacts when traveling. The LinkedIn app is still said to be on the way, but this will help keep users in touch for the mean time. A WorldMate Gold subscription will run you $99 for the year (a free trial is available) but if you travel often it is well worth it. The new version will be pushed out to current users on February 16th. Check out the full press release after the jump.

Contest: To enter to win 1 of 4 one-year WorldMate Gold subscriptions, leave a comment on this post telling us how WorldMate helps you with your travels and/or travel planning. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries won't count. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST.

We've been hearing about the LinkedIn application for BlackBerry for a while now. While at the BlackBerry Developers Conference we got a few quick glimpses at it but as of yet, it still remains unavailable for users to download. Over at the Inside BlackBerry blog, Doug has caught up with the folks from LinkedIn for a hands on video so that we may now get a better look at what's headed our way in the next month or so. That's when the application will come out of beta and likely hit BlackBerry App World for us all to make use of.
