BlackBerry fans in the US looking to pick up the BlackBerry Q10 will soon be able to do so, with the first QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry 10 devices launching as soon as early June. The first carriers to open up pre-registration for the much sought after device are Verizon and Sprint! You can head over to their websites at the links below to sign up for updates to stay in the loop regarding ordering the phone including pricing, release date, and more. Of course, we'll have all that info too, so keep your eyes on CrackBerry for all the new information as it becomes available!

A slight delay, but we can deal with that, right?

Today at BlackBerry Live 2013, CEO Thorsten Heins confirmed that the BlackBerry Q10 would reaching U.S. carriers, specifically Verizon, in early June. That's not quite the May timeframe we were expecting, but close enough. Americans, can you hold out a few more weeks, or will you buckle and snag a Z10 instead?

Well, not quite. But close. The illustrious Rene Ritchie, Editor in Chief or our iOS sibling site iMore, pointed out this morning that if you visit Apple's Youtube channel, there are Verizon BlackBerry 10 ads running on it.

Sure enough, I clicked over to Apple's Introducing iPhone 5 video, and upon hitting play was greeted by this Verizon BlackBerry 10 ad. This is pretty funny (to me at least), especially considering Apple is the biggest tech company out there. You'd think for the couple thousand dollars in ad revenue Apple will make off of a video like this one, they would rather just hit the disable ads button on the youtube backend to ensure they save themselves from an embarrassing moment like this one. 

Seeing smartphone manufacturers target competitors' platforms online isn't new. For example, right at home here on CrackBerry we've seen plenty of ads for Android phones over the years. In that case though we're a third party site, and a company like BlackBerry can just as easily target their ads here as a company like Samsung or HTC can. A manufacturer allowing it to happen on their own channel is a different story though. That's just a sloppy oversight. 

Makes for a fun post here on CrackBerry though! :)

This morning Verizon Communications posted a great set of financial results for Q1. In the wireless business, Verizon added 667,000 new subscribers, activated 7.2 million smartphones and posted an 8.6% year over year rise in wireless service revenue.  

Out of the 7.2 million smartphones, Verizon disclosed that 4 million were iPhones.  This means the other 3.2 million were some other platform, and we know the majority of these were Android phones, with a smaller mix of BlackBerry and Windows in there.

Typically Verizon has always cranked out some pretty good TV ads for big devices, so we were happy to see the BlackBerry Z10 get the star treatment as well. 

While we've seen plenty of the Z10 features shown off in the official BlackBerry commercials already, but Verizon's spot kicks it up shows off the Z10 with a BBM Video chat and screen share. Big Red gives a nice look at the feature as well as both the white and black devices. The "vacation work call" is one that I'm sure plenty of you can relate to and thanks to BBM Video, you can now take it to a whole new level :)

*UPDATE* - This issue has now been fully resolved. WhatsApp, Flixster, Z-Theme and all other apps are now working for the Verizon BlackBerry Z10. If an app you come across is not working, it would be best to let the developer know as there is now options for them to specifically target Verizon BlackBerry Z10 devices through various developers tools and the BlackBerry vendor portal. There is no difference here between ATT with 10.0.10 and Verizon with 10.0.9 other than the version #. The app availability is the same.

Over the past few days there has been a lot of Verizon BlackBerry Z10 owners gathering in the CrackBerry Forums to share their experiences with the device. Overall, most people are loving the Z10 but there is one issue that needs to be mentioned specifically for those on Verizon.

As of right now, there is an issue with installing some apps due to the OS the device is running, which is currently 10.0.9.2743 (software v10.0.9.422) when most apps listed in BlackBerry World requires a minimum OS of 10.0.10. Is it the end of the world? Not really. But there's no denying the fact that it's insanely annoying to those who were looking to make use of WhatsApp, Flixtser, Z Theme and many others apps that are available to others.

Perhaps the worst part of it all is the fact that there is currently no workaround to advise folks of. Sideloading won't work because the apps will still look for the correct OS and when it doesn't find it installed, the sideload will fail. The light at the end of the tunnel though, so to speak, is that both BlackBerry and Verizon are aware of it and come next week, there should be some resolution on the matter. Until then, we'll just have to wait it out and keep checking for updates.

If you're shopping around for the new BlackBerry Z10 you will not want to overlook Amazon and Walmart. These retailers have the Verizon model of the Z10 on sale now for $149 and $139 respectively on eligible contract upgrades. Amazon also has the AT&T model available for $149 with contract upgrade. These are really great prices for the BlackBerry Z10, especially if you're already looking to extend your contract or add a new line. We're not sure how long these prices will be around, so better to act quickly if you want to get in on it.

Another bit of super exciting news is that the BlackBerry Z10 has been topping Amazon's list of Hot New Releases for a while now. Of course, there's been debate in the CrackBerry forums as it seems that depending on where you are sometimes you see the Z10 in the #1 position on the hot list, sometimes #7... but we sure do like that #1 spot! We spoke to the first AT&T Z10 owner and the first T-Mobile USA Z10 owner, so it's only fitting on Verizon BlackBerry Z10 launch day that we spend a couple minutes with the first official Z10 owner on Big Red.

It's here it's here! The BlackBerry Z10 is now available from Verizon Wireless. Verizon customers that haven't already pre-ordered a device can grab on now either online or in stores. The Z10 will run you $199 on a two-year contract and is available in either black or white (the white being a Verizon exclusive). 

If you already put in your pre-order for a new device, you should hopefully see it arrive within the next day or two as we heard that most shipments were sent out on Tuesday.

For anyone in the NYC area that has yet to grab a new Z10, you should head down to the Verizon store at in Bryant Park at 10am ET where you can meet up with Kevin and Bla1ze for some good times and shenanigans.

Just a friendly reminder in case you forgot (which we're sure you haven't) that the Verizon BlackBerry Z10 is set to be available tomorrow. This means that if you pre-ordered your Z10 it should already be on the way to you and if you haven't yet, you can grab on online sometime after midnight or head to a store bright and early tomorrow to pick one up. 

The BlackBerry Z10 comes to Verizon in both black and white variants, so there is a bit of thinking on which color you want to go with. The white is a Verizon exclusive so that may influence your decision making a bit. As far as pricing goes, the Z10 will run your $199 on a two-year contract and we're not sure yet on the price to buy the device off contract.

It's noted that devices will ship by March 28th - so in just a few short weeks you could be the proud owner of a new BlackBerry Z10. Preorder a BlackBerry Z10 from Verizon

For all the Verizon users who thought they were getting left out, Big Red has finally announced that the BlackBerry Z10 will be available in stores and online on March 28th. Pre-orders for the device in both black and white (with white being a Verizon exclusive) will begin tomorrow at 8am.

As posted on Verizon's site:

The BlackBerry Z10 will be available for pre-order starting March 14 at 8am ET on www.verizonwireless.com/blackberryz10. The new smartphone will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores starting March 28. Customers will be able to choose from two color models, Black or White, with White being a Verizon Wireless exclusive. 

It's fairly safe to assume that the Verizon model will bring in the same $199 price tag as its AT&T counterpart as well. AT&T will beat Verizon on release by about a week, but it's not too much longer to old out. Good news is your won't have to stay up late to get your pre-order in!

The BlackBerry Z10 was announced a few days ago for AT&T and now it looks like Verizon may not be too far behind. According to some screens from their internal system, the Z10 in both black and white is just about ready to go. Pre-orders are supposedly going live tomorrow with a tentative release day hovering somewhere around the last week in March. We'll be hanging out late to see if the Z10 does indeed go live on Verizon's site later, so for now just keep that refresh button handy and have a look at the images below.

Okay, so technically this is the second look, but the first time around didn't give us much to drool over. After hitting the FCC just a day ago, we have some HOT new images of the Verizon BlackBerry Z10. We've seen that the Z10 will be arriving on Verizon in both black and white and it's rumored that the device will launch sometime in March.

As you can see here, the device is full of Verizon branding from the front to the back -- the branding is tucked on the front of the device as well as the back on the battery door. Nothing much else that we haven't seen yet, but this is a good sign for Verizon users as the device should be in the final stretch. Check out more images below!

As posted in the CrackBerry forums today, model STL100-4 of the BlackBerry Z10 has worked its way through the FCC and will be on the road to carriers sometime in the near future. This model is the CDMA variant that carries Verizon's LTE band, but sadly there is no Sprint version in sight. The Z10 is set to hit US carriers in the next few weeks, and we've already seen the AT&T version run through the FCC so this is great news for Verizon users. In the last few weeks, developers who qualified for the Limited Edition device have been submitting their applications to trade up from their Dev Alpha. However, those who are on the Verizon network were receiving emails about an issue with the CDMA carrier in the USA. Today BlackBerry released a statement concerning the availability:

Many developers have already submitted their requests for the Limited Edition BlackBerry 10 device. We've started sending out confirmation emails to those that have qualified for the device. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control we are unable to offer a Limited Edition BlackBerry 10 for developers on the Verizon network.

In addition, for those developers who wish to remain with Verizon, BlackBerry is offering them the following choice in lieu of the Limited Edition BlackBerry 10 device.

That all changed today as @evleaks posted up the above screen showing off the BlackBerry Z10 on Verizon's site. If you've been wondering how carrier branding may show up on BlackBerry 10 phones, this leaked image that just popped up on the internet gives us a clue. The BlackBerry Z10 on the left shows clear Verizon branding on the upper left corner of the phone. The phone on the right is apparently the AT&T version, but we're not seeing any carrier branding on this one... yet. It's likely this will vary a bit from carrier to carrier.

If you're a Verizon Wireless customer, you're likely used to seeing their app store preloaded onto your device. Come January 2013 though, that app store will be no more. Verizon has announced they'll be removing the store from devices and no longer supporting it:

In January of 2013, Verizon will start the process of removing the Verizon Apps application from ALL compatible Android and Research in Motion devices. We anticipate completing this process by March 27, 2013. But, no need to fear. Most apps existing on Verizon Apps are already available on multiple app storefronts, such as Google PLAY, Amazon and BlackBerry® App World. Business applications submitted to Verizon’s Private Applications Store for Business will continue to be available for purchase and download to enterprise customers.

Needless to say, I doubt anyone will mind the preloads going missing. However, if you did manage to sign up for any particular services through the app store, you can find further details on when to expect support to be finalized over at the Verizon blog. In addition to that, Verizon will be letting customers know directly as well.

Personally, I've always been able to keep track of my mobile use. I have an unlimited message plan, never go over my data and don't often make phone calls - so I'm pretty solid. I'm sure plenty of you are quite the opposite and constantly go over the limits on your data plan. To help keep things on track, Verizon is introducing messaging and voice alerts for set thresholds.
