Nobex Radio BlackBerry PlayBook

The popular Nobex Radio app has finally made its way to the BlackBerry PlayBook bringing over 16,000 radio stations. Nobex Raido has been available for BlackBerry phones for quite some time, but now you can enjoy the same great radio stations right on your PlayBook. Nobex lets you stream stations free in your country and the premium version gives you access to over 16,000 stations across the globe. Features include:

  • Listen to sports, music and news shows free
  • Watch YouTube videos of your favorite songs
  • Share what you listen to on facebook and twitter
  • Read artist and song information

Nobex Radio for BlackBerry PlayBook is a free download and is available in BlackBerry App World.

I've been waiting for this. I use Nobex on my 9800 ALL THE TIME!! Now I get a better/larger interface at work :D

Too bad it doesn't support Bluetooth A2DP. Kind of useless unless you're using headphones. But I'm still happy to see apps being ported/developed for the PlayBook. Will buy one next month if OS 2.0 includes Android App Player and A2DP.

I had the impression that it was free....the info says that I can listen to radio stations in my country for free...but when i tried to access radio stations from outside the US, there was a pop up that said that this required the premium version and asked for my blackberry id and mode of payment. I cancelled the transaction since the site does not say how much the premium version is...

It mentions that the premium version is a $3.99 subscription service on their site, so I think I'll be sticking with TuneIn radio on my blackberry which is a better app anyway and will just use the browser on my playbook.

Sadly the Tunein radio on my blackberry recently removed a local station i listen to. However Nobex has the station on my blackberry and my playbook! Good bye tunein!!

Missing a bunch of stations that are available on the Blackberry phone but not on the Playbook (Ireland) free version. Hope they update and add these stations!

some major Toronto stations are missing. The music kept randomly stopping and I had to pause/resume stream. ATM its a meh for me.

I actually attempted to buy the premium version. It brings up the App world authentication, but after I put in my password the purchase fails. I forgot the error off top of my head. I did check my app world ID does work so something is not right within the Nobex app.
