I don't see why they can't have pre-orders. Since they won't, I know where I'll be the morning of the 12th.

This is just another example of Sprint being blind as to what their customers want.

You would think that they would cater to their BlackBerry customers more than they are.

@Thomas716
You will be walking out of a Sprint store pissed off because you didn't get a Tour.
READ PEOPLE: The 12th is TELESALES and ONLINE ORDERING...NOT RETAIL STORES.

I can say that this site needs a doin' it wrong button or I don't Digg It button...

I don't believe in Customer Service in Sprint... I walked into their retail store and didn't feel welcomed... I walked next door (T-mobile) and I was very much welcomed and assisted. <_<

Sprint does not care about their customers... 'tis why we're not getting Pre Orders D:

When do they NOT drop the ball?? I have been with Nextel since the begining. I even stayed through the merger with Sprint. I' had almost every BB they have had. But recently I have some call into Sprint retention about some signal issues and such. I have places in two locations and both have "All Digital" coverage by their maps. Too bad it's not really true. With two Airaves, little to no help. With the recent release of new BBs around other carriers. I will be moving carriers by next month. It's too bad, I have been a loyal customer and I can't get Sprint to return calls after THEY say they will call be back about a problem. So again, when do they not drop the ball.

I've never understood the big deal about pre orders for anything.

I guess in the off chance that they sell out on the first day they will never ever get any more of the mass amount of product they have manufactured....

Why people still consider using this terrible company is beyond me. Why are they still in business. There trash!

Posted by crackavelli Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

I still don't understand why I haven't recieved an e-mail concerning any release 12th or the 20th. To me I doesn't matter if I'm the first to get the phone as long as I get it and there are no defects. So everyone that's so hard pressed to be the first remember since Sprint is trying so hard to keep up with it's competitors they might have rushed this product like vzn did with the storm. We will be rewarded for the wait

It was obvious from the get-go that Sprint wouldn't have pre-ordering for anyone, including their current customers. The palm pre was the most anticipated phone that sprint has released in the past 4 years and they didn't even offer pre-ordering on it when apple even allowed pre-ordering on their iphone 3GS. The sprint rep I spoke to last night also assured me that the phones were being sold first-come first-serve and when they reached the point where they were out of stock then they would place you on "back-order."
So make sure you're first in line at the store, or at your computer when the phone is ready to be offered.

Sprint has dropping the ball down to a science.

Posted by cvaria Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

they have weekly two hour board meetings about how to fail more efficiently.

They have training retreats at mountain getaways where they regularly disseminate mis-information to their sales reps and CSRs in an effort to improve fail metrics.

sprint didnt drop the ball, im impressed that they were able to release at the same time as Verizon. For what my plan costs with Sprint, I'm willing to wait just a little longer.

ive been a sprint customer for over 8 years now and back then they USED to have some of the coolest, newest phones around....and since then its like if you dont complain they take kindness for weakness or something like they ARE the ONLY ones around....i am getting sick of this crap, there are so many other options out there for them to not give any respect to current customers. the guy i spoke with didnt even know about the new bb, and kept putting me on hold. couldnt even verify pricing...and nowadays since switching is easier. and yes that IS dropping the ball if youve been "around". and "ACTING" like the patience thing...funny. the ceos of sprint are playing golf right now and have THEIR TOUR, dont be so naive....

i knew they wouldn't .. They didn't even do preorders for the PRE

Posted by Axe Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

I could care less about pre-ordering the tour. Both the Verizon and Sprint versions are probably going to have glitches and problems...just like we saw with the 8350i.

Just wait a few months, let everyone complain about the problems...and get it when they roll out the OS patch that will fix everything.

Sprint finally does something right, releasing the Tour the same day that Verizon is, but now comes word of no pre-order and there will be a $100 mailed rebate instead of just getting an instant discount like everyone else.

I guess that's Sprint for you... one little step forward, three huge leaps backwards.

If my Sprint plan wasn't $30/month cheaper than Verizon, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

After being with Sprint for some time now, and pretty much the only Service Provider whom I get service with out here in the Western Countryside, I do have to say they have horrible Customer Service, and the way they just decide to drop balls like that..makes me want to move to Verizon, regardless of their hefty prices.

Sprint, Sprint, Sprint...

I'm gonna Sprint on to Verizon soon!

Posted by bigdaddy72 Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

I have been with them for over 5 years. Maybe its time to show them the door. What a crock of bulls**t. Why do Verizon customers get to pre-order and Sprint customers can not? People already bitch about Sprints lack of service, and Customer service. Way to go Sprint, hows this one gonna help your "image" out?

Posted by n8d Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

@Axe
WOW...He pulled out the 8350i card.
LOL.
That BlackBerry was destined to fail from the minute it was even though of. Plus many people on here probably don't even know what the 8350i is because NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT IT.
Shoulda used the storm as the example. =-)

Posted by n8d Friday, Jul 03, 2009 1056 days ago

@gregc18
That's because Sprint is counting on people forgetting that they have a MIR and forget to send it in, and Sprint doesn't have to "Credit their account".
Plus, more than likely, Sprint CAN'T AFFORD to offer instant rebates like that. They are probably counting on that money to keep the company afloat.

Once again, Sprint is disappointing its customers again! I thought that they were on the right track by releasing the Tour on 7/12. But not allowing customers to pre-order is just another in the list of poor decisions made by Sprint. When will they get it?

Posted by 10schick Sunday, Jul 05, 2009 1054 days ago

Since Verizon publicly announced they were taking pre-orders for their version of the Tour, you'd think Sprint would have jumped at the chance to get a piece of the pie. Money in the bank is money in the bank, but then I really don't know if payment is required on pre-orders. I'm not surprised though as they didn't offer it for the Palm Pre. A local rep at a Sprint owned store told me they weren't authorized to discuss the Pre before its release; not even with an existing customer of more than 10 years.

On a side note, what happened to Sprint over the last couple of years? Their exceptional customer service used to define their brand.

What are we, a bunch of iPhone like customers where we'll wait in line at 4 in the morning, and have to get something the day it comes out. In the end, I'd rather save more than $50 a month because of Sprints cheap plans, get new phones a little later then everyone else, and have mediocre customer service, then get a brand new phone a couple days early, have great CS, and pay a premium for that service/plan. In the end it's Your Phone/Plan/Monthly Cost that you use on a daily basis, and Sprint eventually gets the phones, and no on can touch their plans cost wise. I think it's funny how many of you bitch about Sprint and swear you'll leave, but never do anything about it. Quite bitching and jump ships already.

If you guys don't like sprint so much why not just switch? Yea the early termination fee will suck, but isn't it better than paying a company that just continues to piss you off? I've been with T-Mobile forever and have never had a complaint.
