Nimbuzz Updated And Now Working On OS 5.0 Devices

to late... i already purchased Beejive...oh well i guess

It's my first time with Nimbuzz and it was about time they get it fixed... it seems to work pretty well, way better than Beejive with Facebook contact management. I'm glad it's working and I think I'll stick with it until it stops working for another few months after an OS update...

As far as I know, it's working fine keeping connections with WIFI. I'll try it later with my 3G connection but that shouldn't be a problem. We'll see about long term.

does nimbuzz push your messages to u ?

I have 5....423 on a 9700. Nimbuzz won't sign in, same problem as before.

Seems to be working well on a 484/497/536 verizon tour hybrid. Handy little program :)

Doesn't work for me.
Can't log into Windows Live Messenger.

Think they still need some bugs worked out .... Until then i will continue to pray for a FB chat app from RIM . LOL

I gave up on em & already bought IM Plus when it was 50% off. Totally worth the $$.

8330 support? I liked this app well enough because you could also run the nimbuzz desktop client at the same time and chat from either without logging in and out between phone and computer. The previous ver killed my 8330 with its constant data access and resource usage but I may try it again if its improved. Currently using the free IM+ Lite (ad supported) and it works pretty well.

Hmm. Not working on my Sprint Tour with the official 5.0.484, even after upgrading to the latest version.

I'd heard of this app before but never paid any attention. So I figured what the heck, I'll check it out. Not bad, not bad...especially since it's free.

Hmmm.. I like the price. :)

Have to get used to the interface though. I'm not 100% sure I like it yet.

I connected to facebook, did the birthday login, but the contacts dont show...anyone else?

I dont understand this article. I have been using Nimbuzz on my Bold 9700 since it came out on ATT. (OS 5.0)

And you'll see that many others using OS 5 could not connect to the Nimbuzz servers. Glad it's working now.

Does nimbuzz push messages to bb?

love nimbuzz just hope they work on the battery suckage it causes, drains the battery super fast if u have a 10-15 min convo on fb chat

I wrote Nimbuzz about 3 months ago, advising them that their software was not working with OS 5.0, and that they were losing market share to Beejive and IM+. They didn't even bother replying. In the meantime, 3 of my friends switched to Beejive, one to IM+. I understand that Nimbuzz is free, but there is no excuse for such a lapse in service. Better to charge a small fee, than to have people quitting their service entirely. People who rely daily on programs like this will not wait 3 months; that is truly an egregious length of time.

contacts were not displaying when I first signed in but its working ok now

it's not working... reconnecting and then offline, and nuthin' happened.. so not stable and confusing too, please fix the bugs..

Make sure you delete any previous version before installing. Also I had better luck downloading OTA from the Nimbuzz site as oppose to App World.

It takes a while after login for facebook contacts to show. It seems to still only be able to display up to a certain number of facebook contacts at a time.

I'm gonna alternate between Nimbuzz and IM+ Lite for the next week and see which one I like better.

..for the few weeks that worked right before the 5.0 issue popped up. Because of this I've moved on as well and I am on another free multiple-IM app called IM+ Lite (it was posted on this site a few weeks ago). I recommend this app to anyone, especially those having issues with Nimbuzz. Battery life is good and from what I remember of Numbuzz, IM+ Lite handles FB contacts way better.

Still can't send/receive files like you can with Windows Live Messenger.

Downloaded 1.1.1 after the long wait and with great anticipation. I’m on a Bold 9000 with OS 5.0.0.238. Nimbuzz still does not appear in the sound profiles. You cannot have more than one account per service. I do not see an option to send files or photos.
That’s it – I’m going with IM+ Lite. You can do all the above even on the free version. Might eventually upgrade to the full version.

I have my contact sorted alphabetically offline contacts hidden. It only displays to the M's for Facebook Contacts. It doesn't do this with Google, MSN, Yahoo, MySpace, or Skype. Anyone else having a similar problem?

I just uninstalled it because it literally drains my battery while i'm asleep at night
