So far, IM+ Pro has been ruling the roost for BlackBerry 10 instant messaging client, but now Nimbuzz has stepped into the ring with their Android port. Nimbuzz brings Gtalk, Yahoo!, and Facebook Messenger all under one roof, and offers up public themed chat rooms for those that are feeling sociable.
Cross-platform video and picture transferring is supported, though Hub integration only extends so far as the Notifications section. Hopefully we'll see something a bit more granulated once the API for Hub opens up a bit.
What do you guys think? Are you still holding out for Whatsapp, or is there another client that you do most of your instant messaging through?

Sadly another Android port. I'm a indie developer and I care about providing the best experience possible, so I take the time to port the app. These companies have a lot of money and surely they can make a decent native port.

I mostly use IMO, hopefully we'll see a BB10 version with full video support. No more need for a skype app :P

Glad to see more apps coming but hoping Whatsapp is available by the time Verizon rolls out the Z10

I'm also looking only forward to integrated apps, this means messages in the hub and ability to trigger conversations/video from addressbook at least. I also don't want to habe an app open to be able to receive calls, etc

I deleted WhatsCrap. I won't re-install it until they fix their security issues.

I used this app for about 4 days, and as an android port it needs some work. Esp the typing, a lot of android apps you cant see what you are typing past the first initial message. I am using whats app now because it has a bit better integration and the notifications come in better. I would totally use Nimbuzz, but has a little bit of work to do! Otherwise it worked nicely!
