Well, are you ready?? Today is the kickoff to the NFL season (Go Giants!!) and I couldn't be more excited. It's a great time of year for sports fans and I'm ready to grab some pizza and beer and sit on my couch every Sunday (and Monday ... and Thursday). If you happen to get pulled away from your TV during a game for some crazy reason, don't worry because we've go you covered. There are plenty of options for keeping up with the scores all season long, right from your BlackBerry. Keep reading and we'll look at some of the best options.
NFL on your BlackBerry
ScoreMobile
ScoreMobile is the obvious choice for a go-to app for football. It's been strong on BlackBerry all along and is still being updated with great new features. You can check out all the latest scores and standings as well as set alerts for both your team or single games throughout the season. Never miss a beat when you can't be watching the game. Available free for both phones and PlayBook.

Tablet TV
With Tablet TV you can watch tons of TV channels on your BlackBerry PlayBook. The app gives you quick access to top channels so you can watch the game, even when you're not at home. It does take a bit of setup to get going, but once you're up and running it's smooth sailing. Tablet TV is $0.99 in BlackBerry App World.

New York Giants Mobile
SORRY! I had to sneak this one in here. The Giants do kick off the season tonight, they are the SuperBowl champs and the app is pretty sweet (although it's HUGE at 6.2mb). It features scores, schedules, news, standings and all that good stuff plus you get a sweet Giants logo icon to look at on your home screen. Best of all? It's free!

NFL.com
Last but not least, the obvious. NFL.com offers up a great mobile site that works on BlackBerry. It's comprehensive and includes news, scores, standings and more. If you're like me and like to go minimal on apps, this may be your best bet. Just add a bookmark to your homescreen and it will never be more than a click away! Oh yeah, this one's free too :-)

Plus we got NFL Mobile on Verizon :)
rickkel Sep 5, 2012 at 1:52 pm
I just tried to download the Verizon NFL Mobile app and it seems as if it is no longer available. I had it downloaded before, but deleted it at the end of last season. I checked the Verizon website and there is no mention of the app for BlackBerry, only iPhone and Android.

Another fan of the defending Super Bowl Champion Giants!!! Can you really watch football on TabletTV? Does it involve setting up proxies etc? I didn't think it was possible to watch the NFL without the DirecTv app?

You might want to edit your article because not all NFL teams are represented. Where's the Detroit Lions love?
