Face Lift for the BlackBerry Storm

I got a sneak peak of this app back at WES 2009 in May when I interviewed three prominent BlackBerry Game Developers. I wanted it right then was wondering when it would get released... a couple months later and it's finally here for the BlackBerry Storm!

Face Lift is a fun little app that allows you to manipulate and distort images right on your device. You can load up a photo or snap one on your camera and from there have some fun editing it up. Think you could use having a little work done?? Simply shoot a self-portrait and you can see how you'd look with a stubbier chin or longer nose (I'm thinking I need a Jay Leno-esque chin.. lol)!

Face Lift is currently available for the BlackBerry Storm and sells for $4.99 (no free trial available). Be sure to follow the link below to learn more and you can check out an additional screen capture of Face Lift in action. Hopefully in the weeks ahead we'll see it roll-out to non-touchscreen models as well. I'm sure there will be many a new BlackBerry Tour owner out there who will want to put their 3.2 megapixel camera to use.

...I just downloaded it, for s**ts and giggles. and it runs very very slow. It freezes up my phone (and yes I have more than enough memory on the device.)

I do not like that if you open a picture from your device, it does not show you a thumbnail... only the image name... which suscks if all of your photos are not custom named.

I am pretty disapointed and sorry I wasted the money.

good idea... too expensive for what it does... Very slow and needs to be worked on still.

I had it on my iphone, I quite like the program. Will improve as they release new versions. Find it to be a bit pixelated on the edited parts but quite awesome.

did he make fun of the messiah? ahhhhhh poor baby....

By: jerde | Date: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 04:42

The liberals "Messiah" is a failure and his recent rating of a -5 in the polls shows it. What happened to all that "hope" and "change"???? I'm sorry but a president that signs as many executive orders as BO did is a dictator. And don't get me wrong, I'm not a Bushbot either.

This is total, excuse my language, BULLSHIT.. Why do these guys keep releasing things for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 bucks just because its a blackberry app? I mean, dont get me wrong, I am pretty frugal, however, if an app is good, I may purchase it.. Heres the problem.. These developers want to capitalize on total garbage.

I mean seriously, PAY for a program that has NO value to it, no strategy, NO real "fun" to it.. I just dont understand.. I mean theres a guy on here who develops FREE apps, that are very good, and USEFUL! I can understand a well thought out game, but I cannot understand a app where you take a picture, and distort it. Expecially when it has no REAL editing abilites..

The developer should seriously take a step back and get there prioreties in line before releasing the next "gem" of an app.. Heh.

app does not work on my storm freezes and storm must be restarted

By: NinjaRose | Date: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 10:15

Same happened to me... but I got it working. Still runs super slow and crashes my phone.

By: XSKITZO2010X | Date: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 08:37

They got the idea for this from the Nintendo DSi. You can take pictures on it and distort them while you're taking the picture or after you take it, its one of the funnest things I've played around with in ages haha the DSi has distort, mirror, color, and all kinds of things haha

By: outkast_21 | Date: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 14:16

Its not that good. It kills my battery quick and when you try to wrap a image it takes forever to do it, it loads pics very very slow. They need a free trial i wasted 4.99. Face Melter on the Iphone is lights years better. And it kills me to say that.

By: HeadAcheJoe | Date: Sun, 07/12/2009 - 15:23

This is truly awesome!! I've been looking for a reason to stop carrying BOTH my BBerry Storm and my Nintendo DSi! But, I had absolutely no alternative to the totally useful picture skewing app on my DSi... until now!

I'm obviously not in the target market as I wouldn't even get this free :) No wonder some people keep complaining the memory is too small when this sort of software gets downloaded all the time :)
