New BlackBerry Messenger 5.0!

We have all gotten a good look at the new BlackBerry messenger on numerous occasions. Now, you can download an unofficial release (leaked version!) to your device and check it out hands on for yourself. All versions have been posted at BlackBerryOS right down to a compatible version for 83xx devices. The Storm, Tour, Bold and 8900 are all there. Be sure to check it out and remember, these are leaked and NOT official - if you lose all your BBM contacts we cannot be held responsible so back up your data before you try these! Only play around with this if you're comfortable in doing so.

To install via standard method, download the zip to your pc and extract. From there you open Desktop Manager, then Application Loader, browse to the folder containing the file and continue on. If that doesn't work, you can try copying the files to where your OS is installed and overwrite the existing ones. Then run and load Desktop Manager it should now show as 5.0 BBM.

I am trying it for my 8900.. it says 'application is not compatible with my device and cannot be loaded'

i am on .250, anyone else have this problem?

I'm getting the same issue here...don't have time to try and fix it now though. Guess I'll mess around more when I get home in a bit.

In this case you have to use javaloader.
Just replace old .cod files with new.

the only cod files on my computer were the ones in the BBM 5.0 folder ...

1. Create folder for BBM2
2. Copy files:

net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod
net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod
javaloader.exe

3. Start CMD and go in created folder for BBM2
4. Plug-in your BB
5. Type:
javaloader -u erase -f net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod
once done type next one:
javaloader -u erase -f net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod

Now device will reboot. After reboot type:
javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_qm_peer_resource_en.cod
once done type next one:
javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_qm_peer.cod

done. good luck.

i did everything step by step and it is still telling me that my device is not compatible. can someone help please, i even downloading the new desktop manager. i am using the 8900 .250

VZW's latest device to get absolutely no love at all..... Does the Curve 8900 4.6.1 version work at least, since it runs the same OS? And why the total lack of Pearl Flip love on CB? I don't think i've heard mention of the device since it launched.

It does kind of show that the Flip has VERY few issues out the door on the official OS (If I find an issue, i'll be sure to let everyone know *LOL*)

The only problem is, it works so well leaks are unnecessary.... And the 4.6.1.236 for Bluegrass Cellular doesn't load on the VZW Flip for whatever reason.

Windows x86 versions it is located at:

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\

for Windows x64, the path is:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\

The .COD files go into the JAVA subdirectory
