New App DonTouch Keeps Others From Touching Your Phone
By Adam Zeis | 27 Nov 2009 13:07 | 33 comments

Our friend Fabian is at is again. This time he has released a very cool "car alarm for your BlackBerry" app called DonTouch. The app is simple - set it to activate and walk away from your phone. The device will detect any movement and sound a very obnoxious alarm. This is great for when you have to leave your device unattended on your desk at work, around the house or on the bar. When the alert sounds, you just need to swipe up to deactivate. DonTouch is available for the Storm and Storm2, and is on sale in the CrackBerry App Store for $1.95 through Monday.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! """"This is great for when you have to leave your device unattended on your desk at work, around the house or on the bar"""".

When would you NEED to leave your "devise" unattended, let alone have an alarm on it? Simply insane! Who ever would leave a phone laying around in a bar probably has no business owning a smart phone. I will stop now.

Ummm, did you mean "device"?

Well considering all the "My Phone was stolen" threads on any number of cell phone forums, at the very least, having something like this on a phone, would help SOME of those "lost or stolen phones, get well not so lost or stolen. ;)

Guess I have no business owning a smartphone. I have to have an app like SmrtGuard or eGPS, too, because I'm always misplacing my BB.

Of course,my BB is just a ****ing PHONE which I use as a business and personal tool. It is not the center of my life (or, if you happen to be a Vonnegut fan, the wampeter of my karass), it doesn't make me important, and it doesn't increase the size of my pen1s.

This is a great concept and I hope our boy Fabian comes up with something similar for Non-Touch Screen devices! If I owned a Storm (1 or 2) than I'd definitely get this app! I think it'd be great for anyone who has to worry about someone snooping in your text messages or emails! Lol!!

By: bchan90 | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 13:57

By: DarshOne | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:06

stupidest app ive seen in a long time.

By: Tiguere | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:19

who leaves their blackberry unattended at the bar? lol

By: BlkBear | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 19:19

..err lotta drunk hotties mostly. Having worked a night or two in a club/bar in my day, you would be surprised what turns up in the lost and found at the end of the night. Things you'd think no one could miss or leave behind, but do anyway.

And even these days I have found things in booths and under tables at clubs you'd think "how the heck did someone forget this?", but they do. I'm talking wallets, clutches and large purses (more like bags), credit card holders and money clips with money in them. And yup even last week, I found and returned Droid that was left in a bathroom on the back splash. So if people are leaving their money hehind, a phone is chicken feed.

Well one thing is for sure, if you have this app and forget your phone at the bar you won't be getting it back in one piece. Whoever finds it won't hesitate to smash it on the ground when it won't shut up. Whether they were planning on returning it or not.

...why the hell would someone PAY for garbage like this????!!!!!

By: wojtas25 | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:28

Ha ha, cool video :D App looks also cool.

By: beantown85 | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:45

You can tell the guy who activated the car alarm then tried to use it had no problem turning the alarm back off

By: JonnyCerv | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 14:51

Who the heck ever walks away from their blackberry?

By: beebea | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 15:40

This video shows how to deactivate the alarm. So, have at it, thieves!

By: andy957 | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 15:59

if it's that easy to deactivate, what's the point.

also, how would you feel if you were sitting in a bar/restaurant and that thing went off? I'd run like hell thinking it was a fire. Not cool.

I say...forget it, even at $1.95.

I have a Storm2 and would not consider this application. I agree with earlier posters - who leaves their phone unattended?

By: mike1095 | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 16:29

I have just installed it on my Storm and the lock function doesn't work

By: addictedwayz | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 17:29

This a great app I just got it and it will work for me especially qhen I have it charging I leave it on my desk at work co workers are always playing pranks on me by taking my phone let's see what happens now lol

By: r1ckynutz | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 17:56

i think its a great app, if you have a sense of humor.

By: musicandnumbers | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 19:08

I don't leave mine unattended at work. And I'd NEVER leave it at the bar. Besides the fact that I'm totally addicted to it, it's expensive! C'mon! And all you have to do is swipe up to deactivate it? You don't think someone can figure that out?!

By: rcocchiararo | Date: Fri, 11/27/2009 - 20:34

this is SO iphone :(

i was expecting some app with some great functionality after so much hype :/

pd: what i mean with "so iphone", is that this is an app with little usefulness, and the appstore is full of those.

By: LuvinPapaYah | Date: Sat, 11/28/2009 - 00:20

This is so hilarious and creative! I only wish they made this app, or WILL make this app available for, if not all, then the newer Blackberrys. My 9700 is being shipped to me right now and it would be awesome to have this app one day soon!
