NBA and Marvel Coveroos Now Available in High Color

Our crazy friends at coveroo just made an announcement that's pretty cool... HighColor!

At the AlwaysOn OnHollywood conference today, Coveroo continued to fulfill its vision to create a world where personal electronics are truly personal by unveiling unique additions to its line of custom replacement cell phone covers. Coveroo now officially licenses artwork from more of your favorite brands including Marvel Entertainment, Inc. and the National Basketball Association (NBA). In addition, Coveroo announced an industry first, a HighColor process that yields stunning imagery on your phone cover with over 65,000 colors that won't fade, rub off or peel like alternative products. 

The licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment initially includes characters such as Captain America, Spiderman, The Hulk, Thor, and Wolverine, which (assuming you haven't already seen the leaked version - I liked the missing CGI scenes) is particularly timely addition given the movie's upcoming release on May 1, 2009. The NBA deal includes the ability for fans to choose from the full array of team logos and players, including the LA Lakers, Boston Celtics, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. This would be really cool to get a Raptors logo on my Storm. And I'd have to get a clear case so I could see it. Just a debate of whether its really worth the money for something that's just for show.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a laker's back plate on my storm but this is way too expensive. 39.95 and that's without the color, that's an extra 5 bucks!!! Seriously????

Hi,

We work hard to keep prices as low as we can, but remember a blank bold cover is $19.95. We also have license fees etc.

I don't understand how these are so expensive. It's just the back cover. Costs probably 10 cents to make. If these products hit a price point like 19.99, they'd sell fast.
