Hype Machine, a website that keeps track of emerging music artists on blogs, has released a native app for BlackBerry 10 devices. If you're a music fan then you'll definitely want to add this one to your media arsenal. With the app you can listen to new and popular tracks, check out what your friends are up to or listen to the album of the week in its entirety.

Features of Hype Machine include:

  • LATEST: Music being discussed right now, constantly updated
  • POPULAR: Tracks that are getting the most love on the Hype Machine
  • FAVORITES: Your favorite tracks on the Hype Machine. A simple offline view lets you see your recently played favorites when you are in air or underground.
  • FEED: Customized new posts from your favorite blogs, and friends
  • FRIENDS: Music your friends are loving right now
  • GENRES: Newest tracks posted on blogs organized by genre
  • BLOG DIRECTORY: Every blog we track at http://hypem.com/blogs
  • ALBUM PREMIERE: Preview a new album, in full, every week

Hype Machine for BlackBerry is a free app (the iOS version is a premium app) and it has been made available to BlackBerry users before an Android app too which is pretty awesome.

If you're a music junky like myself then you want to grab this one right now, trust me.

Songs, yes, but not the album that was just released yesterday. It'll likely show up in a few days though.

It's do or distribution time......

Sexy White BlackBerry Z10

I can hear it now ...

"Why doesn't Google have a native app of this??? Why why why?? They're so stupid!! How do they expect people like me to stay and continue to support this ecosystem if they can't even get this app?? BB and Apple have it. Show's little support for a dying platform. Google better do something to get these developers to make a native app or I'm afraid this will be my last Android phone!!"

Loooooooooooooooooo! Yes!

Awesome, love Hype Machine and play it all the time over the browser. Sideloaded the Android app once but it was poop.

You're right. It was linked to from the Hype Machine website but it was indeed a third party app.

Now they just need the BlackBerry World link beside the official Apple and Spotify ones they have on the website.

This is awesome news! Use hype machine a lot and been waiting for this.

the fact that it is on BB10 before android makes it even better news.

Picture doesn't load in articles list view in CB10 app. It loads in the main article though. Would love to see it fixed if others see or don't see I should say the same. This is great news after all.

I just downloaded the app Hypem.com on my Z10 and when I open the app, it just displays a green page with HYPEM.com on it and nothing else happens, can't access any settings? What am I doing wrong?

Hmm seeing as to how the app does not require permissions, I say you should delete and reinstall :)

BlackBerry you did well for procuring this app! *slow crescendo clap*

Thanks Hype Machine for the nice tunez
