Been a fan of SmrtGuard since beta. If SmrtGuard facilitated BB Shield, it is really cool of RIM to be working with the DEV community like!! I am an aspiring App Developer, hope to build some BB and Android apps!

But recently I took the plunge into a 6 month subscription.. I had it once before for only one month but it quickly expired. However when I updated my login info on the $20 plus dollar purchase my SmrtGuard app quickly showed my service was expired.. maybe due to the fact that I used the same email address(my email address) to set up the 6 month account. Well it's been almost a week now I received one email stating that they gave me a "one month trial" for the meantime while they verify my purchase with Mobihand.. Ha ha I have an activation code, a email from Mobi.. a debit from my Checking Account even. Sadly SmrtGuard isn't behaving so intelligently on my issue. I wrote them a third email today and if it's not reconciled I will request a refund and just have to wait for the BlackBerry's own version.. Too bad because I usually brag about my favorite applications.

Yeah, I've had difficulties with their customer service in the past too. I wanted to purchase annual subscriptions for myself and a few friends and asked them to email me an invoice so I could pay for all of them at once. This was like 8 or 10 months ago. The guy I was working with was like, "Oh yeah, no problem. I'll email you this afternoon." I'm still waiting for the invoice, haha. I think I emailed once reminding them and then I just gave up. I have a pretty strict policy of not begging people to take my money, haha.

I don't mind that SmrtGuard is now free after I just subscribed for a full "paid" year...but what I do mind is that is doesn't work with my BB Tour. On the Tour it shows "0" events even though the events show up on SmrtGuard's site. Tech support with SmrtGuard lags about a week when you ask a question.
