MockIt 2.0 has arrived arrived and it's jam packed with new features and awesomeness to make the app more useful than ever. If you're not familiar with MockIt, the app allows you to create device mockups, memes and also serves as a fantastic tool for editing photos with frames, sticker packs and more. In version 2.0.0.1 all of those features have been expanded and improved upon, plus there's even new features added to the mix.

New

  • Mock It now functions as a plug-in for BlackBerry Express!
  • 10 new memes added
  • Z3 now available in Device Mocks
  • New UI in Photo Frames
  • New Photo Frame templates!
  • New FREE sticker pack called 'Content Control' to censor parts of your images
  • More in app settings are available
  • You can now see your cache size and clear it
  • More premade Device Mock background images
  • New overview tutorial added to first-run and in help section
  • 5 completely new photo frame collections
  • Ability to mock your images onto faux magazine covers
  • You can now add borders and effects to images to be used as Display Pictures from within the photo frame section
  • New Before & After photo frame templates to compare two images
  • New photo frame collages with no borders between photos
  • New collection of photo frame templates specifically to make collages of your screenshots
  • You can now choose to crop images or let the app resize them to fit into mocks and/or frames

Fixed:

  • Alignment problem with the Z30 Device Mocks
  • Delayed animation fixed when leaving the Photo Frame section
  • Fixed / Improved how the app handles restoration of previous purchases
  • Speed improvements and general code cleanup
  • Optimized and cleaned up the UI across the board
  • Photo Frames are preserved per app session, so pressing the back button to return to home screen will not cause you to lose your in-progress frame creation.

The update is available in BlackBerry World right now, so if you're already making use of MockIt, you should see it available. If you're not already using it, be sure to give it ago. It's available as a free download and while some of stuff does require in-app purchases, the app is extremely useful without the need of in-app purchases. On top of that, it's a high-quality, well thought out app that's just plain fun.

I knew it.....going to have to get an iphone I guess so I can fit in on a BlackBerry site. Ok like banned forever?

Not only fit in, but you could also get a promotion as the chief media officer for Mobile Nations lol.

Man I am feeling a power grab! Could it be! Could I actually be the one to sensor the writings of this site? All I would have to agree to is expel the truth, spin the BlackBerry positives into negatives, ban the true BlackBerry followers and worship the Almighty Gold 64 gig Iphone! .....but what fun would that be. I would just be like the rest of the paid media.

No all you have to do is post a disclaimer at the bottom of your comments, you will be free to attack and promote your own agenda under the guise that it's your opinion and meant to promote meaningful conversations. :-))))

Still has a bug in 10.3 that does nothing when the font settings button is pressed. So you can't resize or color the font. You can only move it around!

Yes, there are 10.3 bugs. I'll be launching a 10.3 specific beta soon to start addressing them as I ready for 10.3

Great app! Congrats. I'm spamming my kid with memes I created in Mock It. Priceless!

MockIt has come a long way since its BETA release. It is maturing into a great consumer application. Now if only they could do greater things with their business applications. I know a lot of apps are now getting BlackBerry Express integration which is cool, but they need to integrate Docs to Go and their PDF reader apps all together as well. Work flow, you know? So much more can be done. Liking this update for MockIt, but I really want to see a focus on business applications.

I'd like to add some utility to Mock It to appeal to business people. Any thoughts on that front?

I use this app nearly every week for memes or frames. Looking forward to installing the update after work today.

Visit the help section by swiping from the top and tapping 'Help'. There is an article in there to show you how to resolve this issue titled 'Custom images not working?'.

I honestly wasn't expecting an update at all. As version 1.0. Was still amazing. BlackBerry Nigeria's favourite App.
