I'm impressed. If only you could charge someone's carrier rather than a credit card though. I don't have a credit card. =\

Anyway, very nicely done. I'm 100% impressed.

Disturbed_Angel

Just a thought, as I have no coverage where I am, but I am going to check it out as soon as I can, but in regards to your point, dose the App Store support pay-pal, as you can use pay-pal through pretty much bank account. Just a thought, as I know a lot of people use pay-pal for there internet purchases.

Proda

is there anyway to see the whole list of apps while on a laptop computer?

bbmedia

The layout is a big screwed up on the Curve (screen is not wide enough for the layout)

Kevin Michaluk

Hmm... Should be ok on the Curve. May want to check your browser settings - try enabling HTML Table Support if it's turned off.

If it doesn't help, you may want to send in a screenshot - info @ crackberry.com, along with one of your browser settings, and I'll forward onto the dev team to take a look at.

Still in *beta*, so thanks for the patience!

Blacklatino

Looks good on my 8310 with no problems.

_dave_

Headline says 25 apps for 9.95 - should say 9.95 EACH.

Still a good deal though.

The headline sounds like MacHeist where you get a bundle of apps for one super low prices & many free titles.

Oh well, still cool.
_dave_

Kevin Michaluk

No misleading intended. Just tight on space and I hate seeing titles wrap to two lines. Didn't even think of your point of view. The screenshots show individual apps re-priced to $9.95. Seemed clear to me but can understand your point of view. Re-worked it and made it fit!

_dave_

No problem Kevin,

I've had my eye on quite a few apps & have been waiting for the price to drop.

Now's my opportunity!

Thanks for the great deals!

_dave_

JerryD

Awwwww please! I think it's very deceptive to call a shortcut to a Web site an "APPLICATION"!

Now if you had integrated with BlackBerry Wallet like Future Shop so that you could save login info in Wallet and use it to log into the site, and use it to give Credit Card payment info, now THAT might qualify it as an application!

Kevin Michaluk

Hey Jerry, we never called it an "Application".

It's officially the "CrackBerry Mobile App Store."

App Store = a store where you can buy apps
Store App = an app installed on the device that is the store.

And in regards to the launcher, I refer to it repeatedly as being a launcher/shortcut in the post and also provide the straight url for the store.

Also, if you read the the App Store features list, you'll see that BlackBerry Wallet integration will be rolled out in the next few days.

No deception. Everything mentioned above was stated in the post - just gotta read it! Hope that clarifies things for you.

roninksb

How can those of us waiting for the release of the Bold to join the Blackberry owners club get in on this sale?

Achronas

I think the AppStore is almost prefect... the only thing I would look at as a welcoming addition is a Cart tab that takes you straight to your cart after backing out of the cart to go look at other apps, instead of having to add another app and remove it just to look at your cart...

grayzweb

Really like it! It makes browsing (and buying) apps. alot easier from device.

Martinisloth

Thanks a lot! (read, saw, and understood everything)

pegb856

Great job on the new App Store and the shortcut makes it an awesome experience. I think the only thing I would change would be to add more apps per page so we can browse thru them faster.

Works Great and looks great on my Sprint 8330.

Great job Kevin!

pegb856

I just noticed that Empower Pro is labeled exactly the same as the standard version in the App Store, need to add "Pro" to the title to eliminate any confusion.

CdnKnight

The only suggestion I'd have is a way for the app store to filter by compatability with the device model you're using.

faibs

If I download an app for my pearl, but for instance, get a new pearl through a warranty claim, can the app be transferred over to my new pin

kilo720

yo kevin you should be working for rim them self this is a great idea
i like i seeing app store with phone now
but question the app store work for all blackberry

simpleleap

I love the store, great addition to the BlackBerry world!

Allow software bundles to be shown/bought through the store.

Maybe allow trials for the applications.

And one thing that would be nice is showing what other people have bought for a particular software... like Amazon's page where you see other things people have bought who are also considering the certain product you're looking at.

Thanks it for now.

s4bill

Looks great

I was wondering if there is any thought to making a specific crackberry icon for the app store.

It shares the same icon with the web launcher.

I have them as different colors.

Just thought it would be a good idea if you updated/added something the crackberry icon with something that represents store or app

MobileHeist: Over 25 Top-Rated BB Apps Priced @ $9.95!!!

When I click the mobileheist link - it returns a result of 24 apps.

Is the search working properly?

ChanceNC

I just want to say THANK YOU for making these apps available at such wallet-comfy prices. Thanks to the sale I was able to get the EXCELLENT Empower HTML e-mail viewer for just 10 bucks. It's worth the regular price, and is just an insane no-brainer at the reduced price of ten bucks. For an Alltel subscriber stuck with 4.3 for the time being, this makes an excellent tool for viewing e-mails the way they should be viewed. Thanks CB for throwing us a bone with this nice sale event!

Navan

It's a small thing- but having fields like credit card # and PIN and cellphone number and card verification #...fields that use only numbers...have then automatically input numbers like in the address book.

Also, I didn't realise you had to click on the mobileheist icon in order to get the discounts...and once I did I had to remove the app I'd added to get the discount. Maybe if the same app is added twice to the same shopping cart the lower priced one is automatically selected.

A stylistic suggestion is to not have the continue buttons black and then have them go all black when selected. It's just kind of hard on the eyes. Having them grey with the black border looks much better...not sure why those buttons are different.

Like the layout and the look other than that- got BBSmart Alarms Pro! Was dreading the necessity of this app but I'm glad I could get it cheaper!

RedNightHawk

Nice to see PayPal support coming. Few BB stores have it and I hate giving out my credit card info online.

RealtorPete

I have tried to upload the store launcher but keep getting the following error code:

I have a 8703e on Sprint

any reason for this?

BoldMeister

I already sent in one message to your support e-mail address -

When I try to buy software, I get to the cart. It shows the items, but there's no way to get to "step 2", I get two options, I am a new customer or an existing one, with the radio button. No matter what I click, I can't proceed to the next step.

What am I doing wrong? I'm using a Bold. Thanks.

tcapote

I have the same issue on my Curve 8330 on VZW!

I also have a 8330 VZW and there are 7 applications I would like to purchase and can't get past step 1. Is there a way to purchase online then install onto the blackberry. Very nice if I can take advantage of it

Tanker57

I have a VZ 8330. I signed up as a new member even though i have a login. It seemed to work for me. Nice thing the purchases did show up in my purchases under my account.

roninksb

I think it would be useful if there were a search box on each page at the top (under the banner) and at the bottom (above the banner). Currently, the search function is only accessible via a link at the top and the bottom which takes you to a separate "search" page.

If you do this, the link leading to the separate search page can be removed in its entirety.

My 2 cents.

berryromancewriter

This is a great idea and very handy. Much faster than the old way; however, why isn't Splashshopper on sale. Waaaaaaaaaa!!!! Now THAT is a great application. I just don't want to spend $30 for it!! I think I few more good teasers in there would have been nice--and yes something I would want to buy, natch. LOL

dk14dvorak

Upon check out - it stayed in the same Step (Step 1) no matter what. Obviously I am doing something wrong.

RealtorPete

I wonder is it possible for us to order the sale items on the website and then download them or do OTA. I think it is great to have an application right on the BB, but I cannot get it to work and I guess some people have some problems. For now maybe that is a good compromise?

Kevin Michaluk

Hey RealtorPete,

Nope - this promo is only via the App Store on the mobile device.

Devs are working to address any last remaining tech issues very quickly. They'll be fixed soon so you'll have time to take advantage of them even before the MobileHeist is over.

jberube

I have chosen several Applications from the Mobileheist and cannot get to Step 2 after I load my credit card info.

Please Read if Experiencing Any Difficulties It looks like our 99.6% confidence level on the *Beta* CrackBerry Mobile App Store is holding solid. MOST people are installing the launcher, browsing the store and checking out without issue, but there are a few people (some comments above) who are experiencing issues with installing the launcher/and or the checkout process on the store. We're looking for your help to isolate any issues. If you are experiencing any issues, please respond to this blog post with a) carrier b) device model c) OS version d) any browser settings that may be on/off (JS support, emulation mode settings, etc.) e) and details on what you're experiencing. I paid $9.95 and the App won't activate. I entered the Activation Code and it tells me it's invalid. "It" gave me the 5-digit Code, so it should work, but it doesn't. So now I'm out about $10 bucks. And you get rich.

It's too bad we have to do this via the BB instead of our desktops...what a pain. And for what?

Kevin Michaluk

Hey cbmember,

That's why we have customer and technical support. Always aiming for things to be a smooth process (hence the undertaking of this mobile store - it is an easier and more streamlined way to shop and everything is moving to on device purchasing), but that's not always the case.

As I made note in the comment above and in the orginal blog post, we're in beta with the new app store here. Seems to be working great for almost everyone, but little things like this can pop up. Would be great if you could help us out. See the note above in regards to contacting Sebastian.

Regarding your order, please email customersupport@mobihand.com (include your name/email/order #/issue) and they will help you out. Not sure what exactly glitched was/is in this case but it will get sorted. Nobody's ever out to just take your money. We always strive for happy customers.

Thanks for the patience!

Asking nicely without the side comments, you may get you further here and in life :)

On to my store suggestions so I can get that $100 credit...

The store looks great, a few suggestions:

1) Add a link that says something like "other apps from developer"

2) Show how many times it has been downloaded. Not sure why, but that tends to make me feel good when I see a ton of downloads :p

3) Enable the apps to be downloaded online.

4) Have it know what BB you have and then have suggested apps that would make that BB better. What I mean is if you have the Bold, you don't need an HTML viewer so you wouldn't "recommend" that.

Congrats on the store, looks great and I expect to get a lot of use out of it :)

My recommendation would be that the appstore recommends similar types of apps to those that the user searched or added to the shopping cart recently (Amazon for example does this). So if a user searches for games, then other games display as "similar" products that the buyer might be interested in.

davidmcc

OK, I like the store.

However it would be nice to be able to browse more than six items at a time.

I was going to look for a new theme, but there are 672+ which means 112 pages at 10 seconds load time per page makes about 18 minutes.

Is there any chance of adding a choice for how many downloads to get at a time?

davidmcc

I went to log into the store and it asked me for my e-mail address and password.

I put them in and it said that they were invalid.

So I tried to register. The store told me that my e-mail address was already in use. So I went the "forgot password" route and got a nice random password to use.

After logging in, I went to the Account page but found no way to update my password or information. There was a log for my purchase, but that was it.

How do I get somewhere to re-set the password?

Just tried to get onto the the Mobile App site on my desktop computer. It asked me to download a file with extension .jad (crackberryappstore.jad) I did. The file is not recognized when I try to run it. Is this file supposed to be run solely on the blackbery itself? So far I cannot get onto the mobile apps page to see what is available. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Love the store, but can't seem to get my order completed.

I downloaded the store with no problem and was able to view. I selected the items I wanted to purchase and put them in my cart. Clicked checkout and entered all required info. When I click continue to purchase, it brings me back to the first page and says there is incorrect cc info. At this point, the expiration date fields are blank even though I had entered the correct date prior. I enter the date, triple and quad. check the rest of the info and click continue again. The same things keeps happening and I can't get past that step. I have even tried entering other cc info, but the same thing happens every time.

I would appreciate any help as I really would like to get these ordered while the sale is going on.

Love the store, pretty easy to load on 4.5 and easy to use.

Recommendations, not to be sent to the login page whenever you add something to your cart. This should be a choice, not the only option.

Would be nice to see the customer reviews, so you can gauge if its something you want.

Love the prices, finally got empower which I'd had as a trial before, but decided 4.5 was cheaper than that..but now much more worth the price:) Nice tool. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the app store - not a bad idea in theory but a few kinks to work out. How about a link in the store to contact for support - I purchased an app - got to step three and thought I was successful only to see a message stating I would get a conformation e-mail in a few hours. 8 hours later - no e-mail and no software. I do like the previous suggestions of linking with paypal as well.

Someone here about 50 questions ago asked what the Promo Code is...no one bothers to answer. It would sure be helpful if we didn't have to ask the same questions over and over.

The Empower HTML Email asks for the promo code...I don't know what it is...it wants $29.00. Isn't this app on sale too? I can't complete an order until and unless someone answers before the deadline...will someone be kind enough to do that?

Carllide

Since no answers with the Promo Codes, do you think they will extend the sales?

Can we get some answers if the promo sale could be extended as there are problems with downloading these apps please.
Can we just download these apps on PC so we could have it as a back up in case we have a problems with BB and have to clean and reload OS.

Since the most recent questions are seen last instead of first, maybe nobody is reading or answering our pleas for the Promo Code. Since this is the last day of the sale, if we do a "Buy" on one of the discounted Apps, I assume we can get our money back when it overcharges us?

I just bought the Empower HTML Email App from you and it had $29.99 crossed out and showed $9.99...which was a lie. You charged me the full price and now I'm afraid to download it from the email you sent me because you never did send me a Registration Code for the Alarm I bought yesterday from you, and I'm afraid you won't refund me for the overcharge.

This whole process is a mess. Will I ever get a Registration Code for the Alarm App and are you going to refund my Credit Card for the overcharge?

I created an account, and downloaded an app using my AMEX card. When I tried to do the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th app, it would not remember my card verification code! I had to reenter the entire card and purchase each time. My guess is this is because the AMEX card number is 15 digits with a 4 digit code, unlike MC and Visa which are 16 digit card numbers with 3 digit codes. First, it was a disspointing pain to have to reenter my card number for each purchase, and second, it was quite a hassle to purchase more than one app. The "continue shopping" button would not work -- claimed I was missing Java? -- so I had to buy 4 apps on 4 separate purchases (entering all my card info each time), and therefore, your software assumed I was committing fraud, and sent my orders into limbo. I would classify these two issues as bugs. I am happy to give you more info for debugging, and to win the $100 in free software.

Thanks and best regards -- Michael

Kevin,

I just received an email from MobiHand that tells me they won't refund my $20.00 overcharge because I "missed" the promotion. That is untrue and entirely unacceptable, since I made the purchase yesterday, within the promo period, and did the "Buy" at the promo site which said the price was $20 less than what you charged me.

I also purchased the promo "BBSmart Alarm Pro" several days ago and STILL have not received a working Registration number so I can activate the application. How long did the other customers have to wait?

Are you going to be personally accountable and answer me or are you going to continue to ignore me and just keep my money?

I'm always afraid that what I ask is another dumb question because it seems that there is soooooooo much to learn and I can never learn enough...especially since my device was replaced for some defects and I can't get all the 3rd party app.s reinstalled and things back the way they used to be.

My question is this... Today, I was noticing that when I went to Crackberry on my computer, my original saved password was there but on my BB, it hadn't worked so they issued me a new one..which only works after several attempts. I guess I have 2 questions! :) Is it really true as it seems that one password works for computers and a different one is needed for the BB as it seems to be happening today?

My second question is this: Where and how do I change the BB Crackberry password? I cannot find where or how to do it so I can change it to something I can remember! :)

Thanks for any help!
Diana
