* Update: Sing it With Me - We're here for a good time, not a long time, so have a good time, 'till the pre-release videos come to an end. Video removed. *

Rounding out RIM's surge of next generation smartphones (think Bold, Pearl Flip, Storm) is the BlackBerry Curve 8900, also known as the Javelin. We took a good look at the Curve 8900 in our pre-release review, and the fine folks at MobileSyrup.com (Canadians EH!!) are following it up with a pre-release hands-on review of their own. As was the case with our Javelin, this particular unit appears to be an earlier pre-production too... I'm seeing the standard white trackball, but as we saw on T-Mobile Germany's Curve 8900 page, the commercially available unit will be sporting a new and improved design.

I was just happy about the UMA!!
But in the review I was sure John said it was a Rogers device, although no branding so maybe still a pre-prod, that trackball as stated is a good indicator.

its about time another piece of info regarding the Jav was release I've been going crazy coming to crackberry everyday and not seeing any cool news about this wonderful phone, I can't wait for it to come out for T-mo. I'ma be so damn happy I'll probably cry

Well, you see, now I'm really in a dilemma because I have to chose between the Storm and this (if / when it comes out on VZW - as a rumor was floating around for May 2009). I actually think I may like this over the Storm just cause I like having a full physical keyboard rather than the virtual keyboard like the Storm. I guess I'll have to play with the Storm in the store first and find out.

What is the difference between the bold and the javelin? I thought the bold was a high end or flagship device and the javelin was more of a "retail" or entry level device.

Am I wrong?

Hey!
Does ny one have aclue of when it comes out? do it come out of all the europe like Bold did? im live in the nederland,so i hoooooope i will come here. i need one.

so kevin bring us in europe news!
