It doesn't sound that bad. May I suggest you reurfacing from the ocean depths as to better hear the podcast? :p

The first half, the guys sounded very muted. I would suggest getting better microphones or using lync instead of skype. :)

Listening to it using ubuntu 10.04 LTS via VLC player, plays fine and I basically pasted the download link into the location area via CTRL-V. Win for the most XD

Sounds fine to me.

I think you guys are right about the future standardization. Microsoft had pretty much standardized the pc market and we entered a golden age of pc usage. I think mobile devices will head that way soon... We'll see who the winners are for the smartphone os. I just kind of sucks that involves clouds :p

Fyi... Kev... Crackberrykevin should stay :). "Platform agnostic" ... Pfft... Whatever :p

Interesting concept. I hope we will still get the Crackberry podcasts and this isn't an instance of Crackberry hedging its bets for the future! Maybe some dialog at a higher level will demilitarize the tone of the general commentary between fans of one platform against all the others.

Really enjoyed this edition. Kevin, your theory about platform standardisation is a really interesting one, and as a long time mobile user it does seem like a particularly interesting time to stop and reflect about this. The theory actually made me feel much more positive about the future of BB, and reflect (beware - unconventional opinion alert) that Android might suffer the most in the long term. As functionality becomes standardised, there's every reason to believe that companies who do the most important things to a user best will gain the greatest following. For Apple this could be developing their reputation for developing a user experience which takes advantage in advances in technology and through their OS makes this technology most accessible (in terms of end user experience) to the majority of people, where RIM will catch up in tech specs and baseline all-around experience and apply the increasing functionality to continuing to develop an industry leading messaging experience. Android on the other hand, as you say, have all this technology, but it's not used by the majority of Android owners due to the expression through the OS, and this lack of a particular specialism in an increasingly standardised market may not ultimately play in their favour.
