It's puzzle time again - this time with Mega Catch for BlackBerry 10. I'm pretty sure I've not played a game in this style before which always goes down well. The concept of the game is simple but like with any puzzle game things get pretty manic as you progress through the levels.
The Mega's are the name of the creatures in the game. Small ones will appear from the top of the display and as they drop onto conveyer belts you need to ensure they fall into the mouth of the same colored big 'Mega' at the bottom of the screen. There's two ways of doing this. First up (and easiest) is to just drag the big mega into the right position for when the little one falls. Secondly, and something you will need to master, is that you can change the direction of the conveyer belts. You'll need to be quick at doing this as when two different colored megas are on their way down they will end up on the same belt and you'll need to switch direction as soon as one falls into the big mega.
It's kind of a hard one to explain to be honest, so if you have the opportunity to watch the video I would recommend it. As you move through the levels the conveyer belts get more and more complicated and things can get pretty manic - but practice makes perfect. You'll learn to not just focus on the small mega that is nearest to the bottom - but also to look ahead and see what's coming up next.
The game play is great and you get some really funky background music to keep you entertained. I'd say that in terms of fun factor this one is on par with the likes of Cut the Rope and similar popular games.
At the time of writing this it's only the BlackBerry Z10 that is supported, but hopefully the developer will get it over to the other devices soon. For £0.75/$0.99 Mega Catch is decent value for money in my opinion. Give it a shot and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
