This looks like a great app, but does not appear to be Storm compatible. Why do app developers always leave us in the cold?

Because you guys get all the awesome games. :P

yup no storm love...we are the blacksheep of the bb family! haha
PHLAK Nov 9, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Hey Loopt Storm (1 & 2) owners are potential customers too!

Am I just out of the loopt? Ha..pun intended. Never heard of this before but sounds promising. Alas.. I am a Storm 1 owner.. so I guess I will continue to be "out of the loopt"... sorry. Had to.

I went to m.loopt.com and tried installing the Verizon 9630 (Tour) installer. Loopt put me in an infinite "Need to Changer your Permissions) loop. So I deleted it. I guess I'll wait for some loopt love later. That's alliteration.

I got it installed just fine. Verizon Tour. Just clicked the trackball on the change permissions and it worked just fine. At work so haven't got to play with it much.

Guess it serves m right for getting an old phone. Damn, I knew I should've saved up for the Tour. I gotta tell ya, I'm jealous of everything my dad's Tour can do. Nicer themes, faster, and of course camera quality. The 8330's camera is atrocious.

Sounds good to me. One concern is the fact it runs in the background. Draining battery quick?
FiveOh Nov 9, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Probably no Storm support because they think most users went to the Droid. LOL :)

You can only use Loopt for Verizon, AT&T, and sprint. Doesn't matter if you have a tour with another provider

would be nice to get it on the number one selling phone, the storm
kaediil Nov 9, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Well, it appears that while it works, it is currently only using cell location, not GPS for me.

How is this a bigger deal than the other news? There are lots of "do it all" apps like this, none of which I'm interested in..
jeromeo Nov 9, 2009 at 9:53 pm
I first downloaded loopt when I still had an 8830. I don't know about this being a carrier specific app, but I also downloaded it to my new 9630. For you storm users out there, I would try to download it anyway if you are interested, as I know it works on other models than those listed above.

CrackBerryV79 Nov 10, 2009 at 12:25 am
*hardheaded I know*
Looks pretty nice... runs very smoothly. Connects extremely fast, especially to Twitter and Facebook. Just...
...can't figure out how to use it. I'm sure I'll get it though. lol

installed loopt on 8330 running 5. dont drain my battery. also installed on 9630 tour, running 5. unfortunately the phone got the updated program. 2 hours after curve install. looks like a lot of nice features. although i doubt they be getting used. the thing i thought that sucked. is the my version has a 1, 5, or 25 mile radius choosing. whereas the new version only has a .5, 2, or 10 mile radius. for my needs. 5 miles is perfect. so the other phone will suck. too short or too long. wished they woulda left the 5 in there as that is perfect.
for my needs. this thing works perfect.

Come on this is stupid why do we (storm users) always get left out? Why is it sooo hard to get us on line? Come on folks....Boy i see why many folks i know are getting rid of the BB's and going for the droids...hmmmm....
michaelnguyenx3 Nov 10, 2009 at 12:59 pm
so i have the tour for verizon, easy download and very fast.
im going to go mess with it now :D
mgobin Nov 10, 2009 at 11:48 pm
I was excited to see this updated for the Tour!
....But when I click to run the app (all permissions have been set to allow), I alternate errors:
"loopt-4 verification error" or
"error starting loopt: error loading module 'loopt' OutOfMemoryError"
Thoughts?
Update:
A few delete's and reinstalls with Desktop Mgr and it works now...

Yay for this app!!!
