Leave It On

If you've ever wanted to tweak your backlight settings for any apps like Google Maps, or just needed to leave the backlight on, Leave It On is your solution. The simple app lets you choose when and for how long to leave the backlight on for any application. You can set the light on while charging or plugged in via USB, or have it light up when messages come in. Features include:

  • Leave the backlight on automatically for up to 8 applications. Just launch the application and Leave It On will automatically keep the backlight on for you.
  • Keep the backlight on while charging, through USB, car charger or regular charger.
  • Low battery setting. Disable the backlight from staying on when the battery falls below a certain percent (configurable)
  • Set how long to keep the backlight on for, settings from 1 minute to 2 hours or never.
  • System wide "Leave It On" menu option so you can leave the backlight on at the click of a button
  • Turn on screen when a new SMS or Email arrives

Leave It On is on sale for $2.49 in the CrackBerry App Store through Sunday. We have 100 copies of Leave It On to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to be entered. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment - multiple entries won't count.

I was just complaining about Google Maps the other day. This is a perfect little app & a great idea. Can't wait to get it.

I'd love to have this app. From the day I got my BB I thought something like this should be a built in feature.

They're getting closer, but still no cigar. It doesn't detect all the apps. Google Maps and Nobex Radio Companion were both missing. It also detected apps that I've deleted. Finally, the number of apps you can set to "leave on" are limited.

I hate how the backlight turns off or dims within seconds. Especially if you need it on for a few apps inly but not all. Hope I win!

this would be great to have especially when my son naps. Eaiser way to be notified of incomming items with sound off so it wont wake a napping baby.

It's funny I came across this, I was just thinking I need to figure out a way to keep my backlight on longer. I am always showing the kids stuff, and they keep telling me "um mom its dark"! Definately going to check this app out!

This is really a cool app. It is so frustrating (and sometimes dangerous) to have to remember to click one of the BB buttons before 20 minutes elapse while using the GPS or Google maps.

This app would be great for when I have slacker or pandora running in my car, so that I could always see which artist is playing. Please send me my free copy, thanks!

I've used the free version, and it's a very useful, small footprint, app. Would love to win the full version. Thanks!

Sounds like this is the ideal app for keeping the backlight on for those apps that several people may want to view.

I already own this application, but want to give it to my best friend who also has a Storm2! She would love it.

wow what a day for contests

I need to leave a lot on cause i am in luv with my BB and need to see it all the time

Appreciate the opportunity and gotta have my Crackberry in the morning, noon and ....er always.

Danville, CA. USA

I would definitely use it when navigating. I also use my Storm timer to time evidence processing in the PD lab, and would love the screen to stay on the same length as the timer. Pick me, pick me, pick me! Tking 30FD5DF5

This would be a great app to own, and I'd love to buy it except that we only get free apps in the App Store where I am. So I could use a freebie!
