Torch 9810 7.1.0.74

BlackBerry Torch 9810 users get a bit of a holiday gift today with the latest leaked OS. This one comes in the form of 7.1.0.74 and includes Mobile Hotspot mode. We first saw 7.1 leak for the Bold 9900, and now Torch 9810 users get some of the same hotspotty goodness. This comes as an "unofficial installer", so you'll have to do a bit more work than normal to get it up and running (hit up the forums for full instructions). Reports are good on this one so far, but if you do install be sure to swing by the forums and let us know what you find out. As always, use caution when installing any OS on your device.

Naiiiiceeeee finally get hotspot!!

9930; .374 and frozen.

I hope the 9630 has an upgrade soon; I may need the practice on the install procedure.

I'm not too savvy on these things, however, I may be willing to try it for the hotspot feature alone!

El Platanero

They have got to show the 9930 some love. This is rediculous.

Jeovex

Yea but the 9810 was out before the 9930 :P

El Platanero

I have no problems with the 9810 getting it first. I have an issue with the 9900 getting it first and the 9930 being ignored.

boman06210

My only "problem" is that 9930 is still at 374 and my battery sucks because of it...7.1 or not I just want to see an update.

My 9850 is on 261 :p . Hasn't been a SINGLE update since it launched in August! Leaked OR official!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they are just waiting until 7.1 comes out...

Sir you need to check Crackberry for the offical 7.0.0.464 from TPH, works great, I have had it for several months, Verizon also up-dated their original buggy first version. Better versions than what you are running are out there.

Marvin-13

I have it on Sprint. (didn't come out on Verizon until September, I had mine since August). And I don't know how to use updates from other carriers (I know I know, it says how to do it everyone on this site, but I just don't want to try it) and I don't want to use a leak. I want the official update already!!! >_<

rkopsie

Lmfao!. There has been numerous leas & Verizon has released an official as well a bit ago

Completely agree, it is the best of both worlds however if the the BB10 Milan came with a trackpad (physical or onscreen(think of the possibilities)), a 9900 sized keyboard and front facing camera it would be killer!!!

buckwylder

omg, yayayayaya, lol

The file is unusually small....only 90.4 MB which also requires installing the previously leaked OS of .540
No clue on the language support but my guess is (I'm downloading it right now fyi), it just adds critical parts to an older OS since it's an .exe file!!!

Rob Robertson

I know this is kinda off topic but I can't find a working link for BOLD 9900 OS 7.1 anywhere.

I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Would you still need your wireless carrier to activate the Hotspot feature? Or could you bypass them? I'm a rookie...

AcADIeN

work great by the way, UMA starting to work again and mobile hotspot work good too, thanks you !

rickster21

can you confirm that UMA works after this update? what carrier are you on? thanks!

ayoobshareef

I already have .540 installed on pc and bb i downloaded the 7.1 and i have pc windows 7 32 bit can some one please help me to do this step by step cant figure out how to install i am newbie with hybird but otherwise a pro user

-Dark_Gemini-

That is just so not fair. They should put "Mobile Hotspot" on BB Torch 9800. The OS 6 Devices haven't gotten new updates, lately....... :(

makiger

The hostpot is for all devices or only for blackberry playbook??????????????

intprd04

Clearly it's not a leak; rather a hybrid. Clearly misleading since many people that update to leaked os' would never use a hybrid. With good reason, imo.

wazdat

A little challenging to install. I layered it over the top of 585. On the third go around I wiped the device, reloaded the OS and injected the required CODs to fix the media issues. Then I installed all of my apps fresh instead of restoring.

This OS kicks a$$!

Thanks to all.

nic01

Hi wazdat.. what do you mean by 'wiped the device'? and 'injected the required CODs'?

Thanks.

Litt3

I upgraded my Rogers 9810 to this OS and I am not having any problems.

I deleted the ventor file when installing. :)
