OS 7.1.0.402 has leaked for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. This is an unofficial (leaked) OS, so while it's mostly safe to install, remember to use caution when updating your device. If you need help along the way, you can head into our help forums or check out some of our BlackBerry 101 articles including How to Install or Upgrade to a new OS or How to Upgrade Your BlackBerry OS Using App Loader. If you do install this OS, hit up the forums thread below for findings, fixes and more discussion.

*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

Thank you! But the file cannot be downloaded! Never mind, found a different ORON link on the thread.

.402 has been posted for most of the BB7 devices - check out N4BB.com for other links.
Cheers!

I know it is still early and people probably haven’t had a chance to test.. but any feedback on what has been updated? I’m running 7.1.0.342 on my 9900 and 7.1.0.267 on my 9930 for work… and they both seem to be working great.

so its been a few hours and no problems to report... not much difference to report either... battery life seems to be about the same... been using the media player a lot & it seemed to have fixed the bug where it would stop randomly or just not play at all after switching to the next track... will keep you posted if anything significant happens...

They keep dropping leaked version but rogers wireless hasn't shown any love to the bold 9790!! I'm still stuck on 7.0 for my bold!! This truly suckss!!!

Released 7.1 for the 9900 either, the leaked versions dropping isn't their doing. Don't get your panties in a bunch, be like everyone else install a diff carrier's OS or go find a leak for your device.

Battery life improved a whole lot! Was at the verge of changing devices till .402 came out. I heavily use ma 9900 and on .342 it quits from full charge @ 8am till 3pm, a mere 7 hours. Now im getting life till 9pm!. Very good leak? BTW did appworld always have NFC sharing of installed apps?

Is Asian Language Support included in this release? The file name does not say AllLang as in other releases.

(Took the plunge and installed this OS anyway. Now the Chinese IME is gone. Sigh!)

I never ever had any problem with any "leaked" OS on my 9900. I guess most problems reported here are related to carriers and/or Apps but not to the BB device itself.

I have a serious GPS issue with this always takes years to find a satellite I cant even connect to my phone using blackberry protect! Google maps is always waiting for GPS or it says GPS unavailable....thinking about heading back to .342

Installed 20 days back. Initially the battery life was just a bit better then the prior versions but after 12 to 14 days the battery life has substantially improved. I did battery pulls around 6 to 9 times immediately within 3 days of installing the OS. The only issue i faced is the touch being unresponsive some times. For me the battery life was an issue of high significance which is resolved, now even with an extensive heavy use it gives me battery life of more then 1 day. I Recommend anyone who install this OS must wait for the fruitfull results for 22 days.

i just downloaded it. gonna shrink and report. .342 was great once shrunk. rarely froze. hoping on the batt life fix and the media player fix too..thanks to the ppl who mentioned that.
