OS 7.1.0.258 has leaked for the BlackBerry Torch 9810. This is an unofficial (leaked) OS, so while it's mostly safe to install, remember to use caution when updating your device. If you need
help along the way, you can head into our help forums or check out some of our BlackBerry 101 articles including How to Install or Upgrade to a new OS or How to Upgrade Your BlackBerry OS Using App Loader. If you do install this OS, hit up the forums thread below for findings, fixes and more discussion.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

luqman24 Feb 14, 2012 at 11:06 am
Nice! But like always I'll wait what others say about the battery life on this leak cuz the last one sucked.
the brother Feb 14, 2012 at 11:15 am
lucky dude, they all suck. this is OS7! DEAL WIT ITTTTTT.
carry a charger in your purse, buy an extra battery, etc, etc.
luqman24 Feb 14, 2012 at 1:09 pm
Uhh mean horrible man. .205 was crappy compared to .190 and Mecca's .163 hybrid (which I'm currently running) in terms of battery life. I'm getting a full day (14 hours) on moderate usage which is pretty amazing if you ask me. Hopefully some good news with this one.
the brother Feb 14, 2012 at 4:29 pm
really maybe he can incorporate this in the next hybrid release?
newcollector Feb 14, 2012 at 11:51 am
Ah but then "no guts, no glory". :) I like discovering the improvements.
MaxPayne79 Feb 14, 2012 at 12:44 pm

newcollector Feb 14, 2012 at 11:24 am
I have been anticipating this release. I have the time and am busy downloading to install. Thanks for the heads up and the link!
newcollector Feb 14, 2012 at 11:49 am
First time I have had this happen. I downloaded and then clicked the icon to install it and get an error message. Lord love a duck...back to downloading again.
BERaddict Feb 14, 2012 at 12:36 pm
Same error after second download. Any luck with u ?
BERaddict Feb 14, 2012 at 12:37 pm
Never mind saw the post that the installer is corrupt.
ghettobomb Feb 14, 2012 at 1:12 pm
Quite true downloaded it 3 times three different sources but the result is still the same, Darn this corrupt file
newcollector Feb 14, 2012 at 1:10 pm
I did a google search and have downloaded this update from other sites and links. No matter where I go, the same problem occurs at the install stage. Looks like it came from RIM corrupt.

Come on, 9900! This looks like the same version as in recent Crackberry videos. I need something to keep me occupied until Playbook 2.0 is released!

Will the 9800 ever get OS7?
Xavier666#CB Feb 15, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Sorry, but no.
There are hardware changes that don't allow it to run - Magnetometer and such. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry_Torch_9810
I thought they were developing OS 6.5 for all the OS 6 devices though.
jgrobertson Feb 17, 2012 at 1:59 pm
That download link shows Ilivid service. My AV (ESET NOD 32) throws serious alerts with that. Is there a place to get these leaks without having to install malware?
Longhorns1 Feb 22, 2012 at 8:30 am
Best build so far for mine. Battery is much better, touch screen is more responsive.
