Leaked OS 7.0.0.176 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900

While most of us still aren't lucky enough to have a BlackBerry Bold 9900 to call our own, there are some out there already living it up with the latest device. Here is another of only a few leaks that we've seen for the BlackBerry Bold 9900, this one in the forum of OS 7.0.0.176. Granted not many will have a chance to play around with this OS (no it won't work on your Bold 9000 or any other device) some can hopefully put it to good use. If you are a lucky Bold 9900 owner be sure to drop a comment here and let us know how it is for you, then toss the device in a box and email me for my address :-) Thanks again!
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

I Hope Your Joking!

Wow.
This is fast.
I can imagine what QNX will do for it. Boot up in under 5 seconds. Snap Dragon and all. The world's fastest phone.
HavPlenty Jun 21, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Why won't someone just leak the device then??????? lol
ppedram Jun 21, 2011 at 3:58 pm
I want the 9900. How much? lol
JudasShawn Jun 21, 2011 at 3:58 pm
Will this work on the Playbook? I tried installing it and nuthin :(
ppedram Jun 21, 2011 at 4:00 pm
This is for the 9900, not playbook.
JudasShawn Jun 21, 2011 at 4:02 pm
I know. It was a joke. Its usually the tards that cant read titles that are asking if the Playbook updates are loadable on other devices :)
pilot-leo Jun 21, 2011 at 4:03 pm
I won't even waste my time responding...
DrewDT Jun 21, 2011 at 4:20 pm
Thank you for responding to let us all know that you won't waste your time responding. But wait...
:)
pilot-leo Jun 21, 2011 at 4:31 pm
Thanks for responding to me even though I was not speaking to you!
DrewDT Jun 21, 2011 at 4:52 pm
No problem, FYI, when you post a response on a blog you are "speaking" to all of its readers.

I can't believe you thought this would work on your playbook! Get a life.
On another note. Does anyone know if this will work on my 9700?
don_poky Jun 21, 2011 at 4:14 pm
Life
Kiddo2050 Jun 21, 2011 at 4:28 pm
Do you have any friends? :)
jdesignz Jun 21, 2011 at 4:51 pm
gravy strikes again! lol
drakesaliasonline Jun 21, 2011 at 5:06 pm
So tell me why you were the person that thought a "PlayBook" OS would work on your "Bold" yesterday? Don't be a hypocrite. And your still asking dumb questions about Offical/leaked OS's. If it doesn't say "9700" then you can't use it! #Smdh
gravymonster Jun 21, 2011 at 6:48 pm
Do they really not do practical jokes where youre from?
drakesaliasonline Jun 21, 2011 at 8:24 pm
Didn't know it was a joke, my apologizes..
pkcable Jun 21, 2011 at 4:23 pm
Wouldn't most of the people with 9900, have better access to OS's than even us? ;)
mahsoud Jun 21, 2011 at 4:26 pm
humm I wonder if that "half-baked os pushing down carrier's throat" rumor can be confirmed yet :)
1magine Jun 21, 2011 at 4:29 pm
Hoping for some solid hybrids and some interesting files/vids located in here.
pilot-leo Jun 21, 2011 at 4:31 pm
ME TOO!!
jdesignz Jun 21, 2011 at 4:50 pm
Will these work on my 9800?
*lmao*
Sorry, can't resist. =P
SteelHelmet Jun 21, 2011 at 4:51 pm
All I did was backing up, wiping the device with BBSAK and loading this OS on my Bold 9700!!! It runs pretty smooth, no memory leak at all, also the "This page is too large" message on the browser doesn't show up anymore when you try to load engadget.com in full site mode. BTW, battery life is excellent, now I know why Mike is so confident about a smaller battery on the 9900! Oh, almost forgot, I'm getting 4G signal as well and this build comes with a new feature in communications..."Blackberry Teleportation", which perfectly integrates with BBM 6..awesome! Gonna try to install this one on my iPod Touch and Droid Pro!
SteelHelmet Jun 21, 2011 at 4:56 pm
I think I just bricked my Bold 9700, any help?
fulukso Jun 21, 2011 at 8:28 pm
Are u serious that this os can work in 9700?
ekafara Jun 22, 2011 at 8:59 am
No!! I hope you are kidding. But if not: no you can't.
aloofkid Jun 21, 2011 at 5:06 pm
Some changes that I notice is that:
Pros:
1. It now has BBM with voice call integrated
2. Email attachment download size increase from 2+MB to 20mb
3. I can now play FaceBook games using my native browser
4. Batter life is 36 hours with heavy constant use
5. No more lag while downloading and emailing/texting at the same time
6. Reboot time is now 5 secs max
7. BlackBerry Customer Support called me when I encountered problem with one of my application <--- she has a good voice though
8. Social Feeds now has an option which Feed will notify me which one wont.
9. YouTube for BlackBerry let's me download videos that I want to download.
10. Now support custom led light for all notification
11. Has now customized app hot keys while pressing Space button
Cons:
1. The liquid graphic interface sometimes leaks while on my pocket
2. NFS notifiaction keeps on poping out due to some code implanted on my holster
3. I saw note below that says "This is not real wake up" at About Device Version in Options
SteelHelmet Jun 21, 2011 at 5:14 pm
LMFAO...that was even better experience, dude!

This is ridiculous...a leaked OS for a phone that hasn't been released yet? What the hell is RIM doing?
aloofkid Jun 21, 2011 at 5:22 pm
Teasing our craving or tempting our pleasures or seducing our libidos?

My favorite of the comments so far.

It's the London Hacker doing all of this.
See what happens when you don't have proper security!

Loaded it on the 9900 simulator. Has several themes. One for ATT one for T mobile, one for China Telecom(sp?). Has WIFI hotspot in this build too. And soduku.

enjoy this leak, RIMs 200 employees got their pink slips this week and that number might grow to over 2000 fast....
Kiddo2050 Jun 21, 2011 at 8:45 pm
oooo or maybe 200000!
hmmm let me think about some other totally irrelevant negative thing I can post.
JMarshall123 Jun 21, 2011 at 8:06 pm
is there any point in this at all, the majority of the 9900 owners are employees at rim so they've leaked a os for themselves? is it for developers or to annoy people without the phone whats going on
aloofkid Jun 21, 2011 at 9:37 pm
This must have something to do with the 200 people that will get layoff.
RIM: We've decided to include you with one of the people who will be terminated.
Worker: NO!!!
RIM: Don't worry we'll giving you 6 months worth of your salary after the termination.
Worker: I don't need your money! I need the job!
RIM: But wait there's more... will be giving you the unreleased Blackberry Bold 9900.
Worker: Still won't bite it.
RIM: Plus will be releasing the OS 7.0.0.176 in advance but we'll make it look like it's a leak so you can download it as soon as you got home.
Worker: Deal!
Sorry to those who got offended, no offence meant. =]
drakesaliasonline Jun 21, 2011 at 8:18 pm
Is it just me or are we seeing a larger number of leaked OS's for this device then we usually do? I just don't want a new iPhone to come out before a new BlackBerry and rumors are going around that the iPhone will hit in August -__- #Smh
stavros1967 Jun 21, 2011 at 8:47 pm
You'd better hurry up Rim.The doors are closing.200 job cuts!!! They'd better get the 9900 right.Or else its bye bye. So sad.I really want the 9900!!!
Kiddo2050 Jun 21, 2011 at 8:50 pm
I'm getting the 9900 because I dont want an i phone so iPhone 5 is a bit irrelevant. If you are thinking that this phone is going to get good reviews if it comes out before iPhone 5 forget it. There is zero chance this phone will get a good review no matter how good it is. zero.
Bahrutile Jun 21, 2011 at 9:24 pm
i dont think 9900/9930 will get a fare shake, but it will sell well...

There are some of us with the 9900 and 9860 that does not have access to new builds.
Highly appreciated! Hope there's one for 9860 being leaked soon as well :)
birdman_36 Jun 22, 2011 at 12:29 pm
I installed this on my Pearl 8100. Incredible browsing experience and very responsive. It's like a brand new phone.

theKHMERboy Jun 23, 2011 at 11:15 pm
hey i wanna know will this work for my blackberry torch?
amplified Oct 11, 2011 at 11:25 pm
Hey I recently got the bold 9900, it is running os 7.0 bundle 1672 (7.0.0.353 Platform 5.0.0.544)
Reading a review from crackberry forums, this OS saves battery life most, currently running my current OS, version and such, my battery is drained like no tomorrow..
Was wondering how I could downgrade and stuff.
