BlackBerry OS 7

It seems like a few months before the next wave of devices lands we always get an influx of OS leaks that many of us can't use. This time is no different, with some more OS 7 leaks coming our way. These come in the form of OS 7.0.0.100 for the BlackBerry 9810, 9860 and 9900. Again, most of you won't be able to do anyhting with these, but some may look to tinker around a bit. Word of caution - please, please, please don't try to load these onto any other devices, bad things may happen :-) Look for hybrids and perhaps some updated core apps to pop up soon as well.

phones these days have a 1yr life cycle. That's nothing new. Storm 1 got new OS's after the Storm 2 was out, so I'm not sure what your complaining about?

cue *end of world*

I guess you've never had an iphone?

or an android phone where they come out every month ;)

your phone might be EOL (like pretty much everything after a year - look at compact cameras for example and they hardly ever get firmware updates) but it doesn't mean it won't get fixes or firmware updates.

My 9000 bold got an update not to long ago. not official one from my carrier but I can still use it.

Wow lol.. the 9900 that I played with was 7.0.0.86 :O

It's nice to know they are ironing out the bugs I guess :3

"It seems like a few months before the next wave of devices lands we always get an influx of OS leaks " - Months you say. Better check with Kevin, he thinks these are coming in June. Though - I will note that the Storm 9530 released at around .68. So 100+ is actually a decent sign that things are moving along.

I wonder what ever happen to the "6.1" lite version they were planning on releasing a few months ago

If I'm not mistaken, few months ago it was said that the 6.1 it was called now 7.0, and I think was a investors choice.

Curious. Will the 9860 be the designation for both the Monaco and the Monza? Bet this is just the T-Mobile version. Anyone pull the vendor ID?

lol this is cool but why is the software coming out before the hardware dammit! Well the hardware must have been finalized by now so at least it shows that the fones are coming out sooner than later. :-)

I don't understand why people want the QNX stuff so bad right now.. If I can recall correctly, my Playbook that is running off of QNX cannot even get INTEGRATED email yet.. I mean call me crazy, but I hope we don't see QNX even tested on phones until the Playbook is at least sorted out, because if that thing can't do it, no way in hell a phone can do it. I mean I agree with you about WANTING the QNX stuff, but you wont see any sign of it until months after the bugs are fixed on the PlayBook I mean and that has yet to come so :/

qnx can get integrated email its just they haven't put it in yet. and people want the QNX because the old os is just that old. it had reached its limit years ago and should have been replace. QNX has yet to show its limits. and yes i do agree that they should put more emhasis on the playbook os. i can can forget the phones for another year the tablet is more important.

Hmm...I think I'm done with trying to load iOS on my Bold 9700 and will give this one a shot. Hope it works. If it doesn't, THEN I'll be definetely done with RIM!

Didn't work! Sorry, I used to be a BlackBerry fan boy but not anymore. Got tired of waiting for better processors, better display quality etc, etc, etc. Sorry RIM. I'm getting my iPhone 5 or 4S rocking Windows Phone Mango this summer!

Yeah...yeah...iPhone.....specs........ Does iPhone on-screen keyboard make typing as easy as a BlackBerry, No. Does iPhone have the messaging/social networking integration, NO. Does iPhone have the awesome signal reception of a Torch, No. Can you customize you iPhone to look and work the way you want, No.

If specs, silly apps and following the crowd turns you on then get your iPhone. If you want to get serious/important work done efficiently a BlackBerry is still the way to go.

This looks like good things to come. I'm just wondering why they got a picture of the PINK Curve runnin BB7??? That is an old or current Curve but not the new one at all. Can tell by the color buttons on it. U guys need to stop fooling us and havin us get our hopes up lol...

Will this run on my 9550? LOL I kid y'all

I think they do these leaks to see if anyone out there is smart enough to port them to their current phone so THEY can later send the official OS 7 for the old devices, lol.

Well well, lookie what we have here. Fresh piece of gold in the market. I'm gonna try this on my Bold 9000 lol :)
