Leaked OS 6.0.0.526 for the BlackBerry Bold 9780

Happy Monday Bold 9780 users. Here is a fresh OS leak to start the day off with. OS 6.0.0.526 has popped up and is ready for download. Early reports say that this one looks to be a bit zippier than the last few, so if you have some free time this morning why not give it a go. As usual, use caution when installing any OS on your device.

If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. No you can't, the 9780 and 9700 might look similar, but they have enough differences to not support each other's OS'.

I wish they would stop calling these leaks. As far as I can tell these are just work arounds of the stupidity of carriers that will not let us upgrade the OSes on our phones.

Or does leak really mean it's unfinished and crappy?

It sure did back on the early releases of 5.0 for the Curves and original Bold.
Now a days, most of the leaks are just like you said, a way for people to update (althou some do have some bugs, like... everything before .448 for the 9780).

That would be the Curve series. The Pearl 3G series are the 9100 & 9105.

Yup, left out in the cold. :( I would not be surprised if the leak for 9700 comes tomorrow. Tuesday seems to be the day, or at least when I pick up on them. Hope GPS works spot on ALL the time for the next leak. Last couple have been spotty. Also, .499 has the return of the lost cursor (try editing a contact ...painful)! I made a prediction a while back when OS6 rolled off the conveyor belt for 9700. It is going to be like OS5, did not reach perfection until the end.
Perfection OS6.0.0.999 ! Then comes 6.1 and we all become beta testers again...well, maybe not 9700. We will have to upgrade to a better hardware platform. Common' Bold Touch! :)
Sorry, none of this really helps 9780 users who are trying to see what the new leak is all about. Happy for you all, I guess. LOL!

After tested it, my GPS doesn't seem to be working it couldn't locate my position at all. That's a major downside other else seems fine

Was it working properly for you before? I've had a lot of issues with the GPS on the Bold 9780 as well as the Torch (by proxy of some co-workers) as opposed to the 9700 where it seems to always be working. Even comparing them side-by-side, the 9700 seems to work fine while the 9780 has a lot of trouble. Especially in rural areas with a wide open sky and practically nothing around :-/

wow I didnt realize TMO had an official .448 realse for the 9700. This is actually my favorite release to date.. I downgrading from .499 back to TMO's Official. I wonder why it didn't make front page here?

I said I never would but I finally did I had been a BB owner and supporter since 2006. After the whole Storm 2 OS 6 letdown and being kicked to the curb. I went to the darkside. I gave my storm to my Son and bought an Iphone 3Gs. Im not being paid by apple just as I wasnt being paid by BB, however in my opinion this phone rocks, AND its the older model. Im just saying dont let your loyalty to BB keep you from making a sound purchase.

its kind of weird, now i never can load the os on my phone... i installled it and then go to bbsak or apploader, and it seems to be not installed, but i already installed... you know what may be?
