hoping the same leak for 9700

Gonna download and install right now!! The last OS sucked so bad on my bold.... battery dies in less than 12 hours, the phone was slow as hell, laggy and unresponsive many times! The only plus was the memory leaks were very minor! Hopefully this update fixes these problems, or else its bye bye 9650! Time to sell you off! hahahaha

Ugh. Of course I upgraded to .466 yesterday.

Posted by pkcable Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

.466 is real BAD, you should consider upgrading or even downgrading to 443.  :)

Did they put column view back in?

Posted by Moo Cow Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

What is column view? (I know this sounds like a majorly dumb question, but I truly don't know -- or I know it, and yet never knew it as column view.)

It's the ability to resize a webpage to view only the width of the screen, rather than having to scroll around the page while reading articles or webpages you can simply read as you scroll down in a single column.

Posted by edlivian Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

wohoo, column view is in this build!!!!!

acid 3 test now gets 100/100

html5test gets a higher score of 240 plus 3 bonus points!!!

everything feels smooother finally, hopefully it lasts.

Posted by cdf3 Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

Wow, really? If it has column view, I will download it and give it a try.

Posted by tryfe Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

Where? I don't see it..

Posted by scuebydue Tuesday, Mar 22, 2011 429 days ago

There's no column view

I recently upgraded my 9700 to 6.0.0.499 and it sucks big time. Wish, if 524 comes for 9700 too.

Posted by tnandy Monday, Mar 21, 2011 430 days ago

Thank you for this. Text icon reappeared and no more JVM/app errors (for now; knock on wood). Was about to swipe and downgrade from .466 when I saw this today.

If you have installed the OS, could you please confirm that column is back.

Thank you.

This is running really snappy. So far so good.

Posted by maffyah Tuesday, Mar 22, 2011 430 days ago

this build is running really snappy however the picture scrolling is still horrible. freezes up. it seems to have fixed the issue with the pics tho when holding the camera button, after it focus then when the pic snaps sometimes a horizontal line shows up

Just Finished installing, will report back later.

There's a bluetooth/media player issue. I'm no longer able to stream audio via bluetooth with this version. I've done a few battery pulls, of which it fixes the issue temporarily. Then the same issue pops up. Overall this build seems pretty snappy, but I'll have to go back to an older OS if this doesn't work itself out. Warning box always says media player is busy. Also XM BB app downloads, but won't play if bluetooth is activated in your car and attempting to stream as well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wow. Really? Mine didn't work on .431, but now with this install it works. And it's annoying to me as my iPod is connected through SYNC and the phone Bluetooth causes me an extra step. I find it as a hindrance. Funny how the same model phone reacts differently to an OS update.

Posted by dh321 Tuesday, Mar 22, 2011 429 days ago

Yes, very annoying and frustrating. I realize this is a leak and we download at our own choosing, but to leave out what seems to be basic phone files makes no sense. I had .434, not .431 and everything worked fine. Goes to show you when something isn't broke, it's best to leave well enough alone.

Won't install on my Bold 9650 from Sprint. I downloaded it fine to my computer.
Does Sprint block these?

Posted by lewisc1979 Tuesday, Mar 22, 2011 429 days ago

It loaded without any issues on my Sprint 9650.

Posted by lewisc1979 Tuesday, Mar 22, 2011 429 days ago

The battery lasts forever, the free space went up by 20 MB, and the phone is much more responsive with this build. Good times.

I need some technical help.
I installed the version .524 to my computer. It shows up under Blackberry Device Software in the Control Panel. I open up Blackberry Desktop and plug my 9650 in, and it will not update. It still shows version .415.
I deleted all the previous versions in the Blackberry Device Software before I installed the new version. It seems to install fine for other Sprint users, so what am I doing wrong?

Posted by tnandy Friday, Mar 25, 2011 426 days ago

Delete the vendor file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader"; remove "(x86)" if you don't have a 64-bit OS. Then use the Loader.exe file in that directory to install (not BB Desktop).

But how can I over ride? (This BlackBerry® Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry® solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. To learn more about BlackBerry® service, please visit www.blackberry.com/service.)I keep getting this and it will not let me update. I have a flashed phone Verizon working on Metro PCS network. It works great but I wanted to OS 6.
Let me know the steps to take? thanks

So far so good! And bonus points for being able to type up to 7 pgs in a text message and not have to send it in parts or as an MMS message =]

This is under the "unofficial" OS but I did the OTA on my VZW 9650 and it installed this version....

I did notice the camera on this phone isnt nearly as crisp as the my old tour with OS 5 on it...
