9650 BB6 leak

BlackBerry Bold 9650 owners, if you've not been happy with OS as your daily OS you now have a new leak to test out. OS has now revealed itself and is ready for your testing. Remember to back up your data before you load this up. Also be sure to drop comments letting us know how it all turns out for ya's!

*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

Leaked OS for the BlackBerry Bold 9650

i think I will stick with 431 but I think its funny they made the wiping guide and then .466 was released...what a good day!

Seriously I know how irritating it is when there's a 9700 version and I constantly see "where's the Torch 9800, Bold 9650, Bold 9780, etc. Love!?" So I know how you guys feel seeing it from us!

When I installed the previous update I couldn't connect to wifi. Please post if that issue has been fixed! Thanks

I think ill stick with the official os6
Verizon version.
I tried both verizons and sprints + leaked versions
But they all have the same youtube problem.
Not all videos work or video freezes after 4-5 second.
While sound plays. (I use wifi so it not the plan)

Be advised this is *NOT* a Verizon build. It does not have the PTT files needed if you use that function. It may be from Sprint or wherever. The install crashes out in Desktop Manager if you have a Verizon 9650 with PTT on it.

There are some updates in this build. Charging symbol is different, browser start page has changed to a tile like showing a small page instead of just the name of the web site. After exiting password keeper it says securing password data.
Just some things I've seen so far. It's running very snappy!

Charging icon flashes when charging, call log is different, new bookmarks format. Only problem i found so far is that i cant highlight any of my conversation in bbm to copy and paste. Might switch back to .431 just because of that issue..

I think it's the version of BBM that's hiding the cursor. I haven't tried to downgrade to the last official BBM but that might be a solution.

All these apps, OS updates and cases are nice, but man, RIM is starting to lose their biggest fan. ME! Think about their offerings as of late. Curve 3G with no flash or image stabilization. AT&T no longer carries any Bold model here in north Texas. The T-Mobile 9780 was just another 9700. This is getting very boring. CrackBerry.com use to be exciting. RIM is not giving you all anything to work with.

The PlayBook???? Release THE FU%^&ING tablet before the Motorola XOOM releases. PLEASE or else. I can't sit around and wait any longer. I have had a BB since RIM started making BlackBerry cell phones. But RIM is becoming so outdated its pi$$ing me off.

Then we get these sneek peaks of these new phones. I am hearing late this year or next year!?!?!?! are you serious? Everyone will have a Droid or iPhone by then. Even people who can't live without a keyboard may jump ship.

I work for a large corp and they are starting to test iPhones!!! Ahhhh!

I agree with you i had the blackberry also and when they stated they going to launch flash player with there new phones i was happy and when the phones came out there was nothing, i stayed with them only for the BBM nothing else. but i got tired of waiting and got the EVO, that was the best thing i did. phone is better even without the BBM, i use liveprofile. but theres nothing that blackberry can do for my to go back to them, there falling back on there phones.

The xoom for 800 bucks is going to be a slow bumpy bandwagon. Better for RIM to take the time and get the playbook right.

for some reason i can't load the leak OS.. I downloaded the software from the link, i click on the file it says extracting blackberry 9650.msi and then nothing happens.. i go on desktop manager click on update phone but it says no update available.. any help??? i think i might just stay in .431

Make sure that u installed the file to your pc after downloading it.... use apploader instead of desktop manager... u should take off internet connections just in case because blackberry might block u from downloading this leak if they have their own official build available! also if when u connect it to apploader it still doesnt detect any software u just install, try taking out the battery from the phone and connect it just like through usb! this happened to me twice trying to install software a week ago on 2 9700s! it didnt detect the software update until i took out batteries and uploaded the software as though my phone was nuked! dont forget to delete vendor file in apploader... even though it aint needed since this is not an official build! hope this helps!!

Does the 9650 have a memory leak issue with BlackBerry 6? (Or any 512MB device for that matter?) Or is it just an issue for us 256MB users? (like my 9700 for example?)

Its working nicely now then the VZ build from the start, nice improved browser with nice improvements if you run the HTML 5 test you will see what I am talking about. Let’s see if the Bluetooth is working better then the VZ build.

Does the new leak include "column view" in the browser? If not, in the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "I'm out!"

Seems to be running ok except one big problem. My text/sms icon is gone. I loaded the OS twice and after a reboot the icon disappears. Anyone know why this is happening? I still get the notification led but there isnt any icon. This is the error message after i reboot:

Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointer

Anyone know what that means or if it has anything to do with text messaging? I am using BeBuzz, maybe that is causing the error?

Same problem, I get Uncaught Exception error when I boot and my SMS icon is gone. I am not using BeBuzz so I don't think that's the problem. Other than that very nice build so far.

Does anyone else have the problem of bookmarks not lining up properly when you bring them up? Its like mine are cut in half and the text is difficult to read

im having the same problem with bookmarks not lining up.

this version did correct a bug i've had with having multiple email accounts with one domain. i have 3 gmail accounts. with the previous versions of BB6 if i tried to hide just one account all gmail accounts will hide. didnt have this problem in bb5, but this leak corrected that.

so far its good for me. now downgrade for me...for now.

so for some reason I can't even load the OS on my phone, tells me there is an error when I tried it with BBSAK and the Desktop Manager...i deleted the original and tried again...although I'm beginning to think I might not have done it fully but what is causing the error???
