Well happy President's Day, let's celebrate with a leaked OS for the BlackBerry Bold 9780! OS 6.0.0.461 appeared in the
CrackBerry forums a bit ago, thanks to ALKi3. Be sure to let us know in the comments below what you think of it if you install it, and don't forget to do a backup of your device, just in case.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

OK...I know this is getting old...But, any word when/if the 9780 will come to AT&T?
andrewshaheed Feb 21, 2011 at 3:04 pm
Cursor problem in bbm still exists but browser seems a lot faster.. I don't think this update was worth it :(
Jake Storm Feb 21, 2011 at 4:37 pm
So, it's free.
It makes your browser a lot faster.
It's something you can do while you are doing something else.
Doesn't make your OS worse.
But it's not worth it?
AbuYazeedUK Feb 21, 2011 at 5:16 pm
Did you follow ML's instructions? apparently the BBM cursor is fixed.
srandazzo01 Feb 21, 2011 at 8:24 pm
The cursor problem is from the version of BBM. I have the leaked 6.0 and its finally fixed on that version.
Noobie101 Feb 21, 2011 at 6:29 pm
follow matrix leaders instructions. works like a charm. os is snappy, scrolling is smooth in browser and chats, BBM CURSOR IS WORKING!, the txt bug where it goes to middle of chat seems to be fixed. best leak so far!
amlbuton Feb 22, 2011 at 12:07 pm
ML only is not the one who solved the issue with missing cursor in BBM..he only reposting it, credit goes to DC2-Guy ..
mindgameshaw Feb 21, 2011 at 6:30 pm
What and where are ML's instructions? Sorry, but I have no idea where to find them.

I installed this OS and now my facebook app will not work. It says "you are currently on a service plan that does not support this application"
Edit: now it's fixed...I had to turn the radio on and off...that was weird.
Although I turned the radio off in the first place for UMA to kick in and it has not yet kicked in...not sure where that problem comes from..

Has anyone noticed that the VVM is gone from this leak?! It's not hidden or in another folder. Will have to add it back.

their well be a leak for all blackberry EXCEPT THE PEARL 3G..
PJNERO Feb 23, 2011 at 12:09 am
I don't see a difference between this and .448 - except for losing VVM. You still can't dial from the homescreen.
al3azef Feb 23, 2011 at 3:09 am
First Impression: I lost my text messages icon and a couple of java modules errors at the boot time. I don't recommended it

I installed OS 6.0.0.461 on Monday evening on my BB9700. I am so happy with it's operation so far. It like night and day different form OS 5.0.0 xx I was running.
100% pleased so far!
BBBAbuser Feb 25, 2011 at 11:46 pm
Installed on my 9780 with BES 3 days ago. All working fine. No difference with .448 noticed though...
