Leaked OS 6.0.0.448 for the BlackBerry Bold 9780
Two days of leaks now but still nothing for the 9800 yet. But here is the latest for the BlackBerry Bold 9780, v6.0.0.448. If you're interested in trying out this leak, fire up app loader or desktop manager or whatever you prefer to use and get to updating. Don't forget to back up your device first, and read the disclaimer below. Newer Facebook is also included with this release.
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

This is a great leak! Finally some fixes to things that should have never changed to begin with...
BB maps is no longer buggy and everything is larger so you can actually see the directions. Much more friendlier to use, just like 5.0 was.
Browser has changed a bit...and menu has changed a little...
I haven't noticed anything else yet, but I became so excited about the map fixes I felt like sharing right away....this is probably my second comment on CB, ever LOL.

Yeah, so much for a RIM "Flagship" device (BB Torch)...how long was it since we got leak 2 months? SMH

Would also be nice if the keyboard issue gets fixed
renzokuken.tan Jan 25, 2011 at 8:06 am
Hi,
You mean the keyboard stutter issue? it won't get fixed by reloading new OS, it's a hardware issue, you have to change the keytune to fix it.
Regards,

Hi, I have loaded this OS today and I can say keyboard stutter issue is improved. I am facing that issue only in very few keys now . Give it a try.

I need it for the 9800
brutus1981 Jan 25, 2011 at 3:11 am
Thanks for the leak but have tried all links and it is not showing up on my desktop manager as a an update?
Any ideas? Could it be the desktop manager?
Always been able to get device updates before...Cheers!

Try running apploader in program files (x86)/common files/research in motion/app loader. Just delete vendor.xml after installing the update on your computer and you should be good!

I want to use Thai language.
help me please.
djgadget Jan 25, 2011 at 9:01 pm
Hi, you need to install the font "net_rim_font_thai.cod" file in to the new OS version. You can get the file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Java... Once you get the font file, you can use BBSAK to intall it to your phone...
Simple enough, right...

It does not fix the key board issue with the doubble letters when typing. This is driving me nuts. Anyone figure out a way to fix it?
MsBrittz1016 Jan 25, 2011 at 11:21 am
The keyboard issue is not a software issue therefor it won't be fixed by any new upgraded OS6 releases... This is a hardware issue and the only way to fix it is to call up tmo and get a new phone... Or to open up ur phone (voiding any warrenty) and fix it urself.... There is a post in the 9780 forum about this

I found an issue in the camera and media/picture folders. I will take a picture and view I don't an response when I click on menu button to to scroll down so I can send the picture. also when I when I go to my picture folders, the menu button doesn't want to work there either. I am going to do an battery pull and see if that resolves the issue.
djgadget Jan 25, 2011 at 9:06 pm
Has anyone experienced the issue of the headphones dropping in volume when using the media player. The volume seems to be OK, until you bring the phone out of standby, then the volume drops to 50%, however, the actual volume indicator, when using the volume buttons on the side, is where i left it, one click from the max... The volume goes back to normal, when i hit pause and then play... I know its not my headphones, as i am running, Bose, Audio Acoustica and Philips....
Any feedback would be cool...

Dissapearing browser pointer fixed scrolling is smoother. That's all I care about..
kkunal Jan 27, 2011 at 8:32 pm
Try mixing BDHP 5.0 universal (HYBRID period!) with this leak.. (Links elsewhere - type on forums search) It might solve all issues abt battery leaks.. In fact upon me previously installing BDHP (hybrid) with OS .359, I can't even begin to describe how it changed the whole battery life saga!! It went from amazing to superfluous terrific!! Two thumbs up to that.. Do ask on the forum if u ain't sure wht u doing.. Always good to know n be prepared!!
Back to the point , I'm yet to use this leak as I've just got myself a NITRO boost Hybrid V2 OS (multiples.. 443, 448, 413, 285, 415, 431, 424 modules, that including 6.1 browser capability n 6.1 here n there as well) so, testing that.. N so far so good.. Minus some bugs abt bbm scrolling and pictures retrieving delays.. Rest seems good..
Good luck folks!!
Anyone playing with more of apps n installing lots!?? Heard of "AppError603" !??? It can be quite nasty so careful on that.. It seems to hit the base OS the quickest as per my experience.. N if it strikes u.. Just give it a factory reset using vnbbutils or jlcmdr.. So u won't lose ur apps at least.. ALWAYS MAKE PERIODIC BACKUPS TO RESTORE OR SELECTIVE RESTORE (CONTACTS, CALENDER, SOUNDS, TEXTS) LATER!!

PJNERO Feb 2, 2011 at 6:26 pm
I've tried to download this. It won't got through. Keeps stopping because "1 or more modules can't be resolved."
jojones44 Feb 22, 2011 at 4:41 pm
does it fix the issues in the text messaging?
