Curve 8900 OS

It looks like Ronen has stuck again. Earlier we posted 5.0.0.348 for the Bold 9000, and now 5.0.0.348 for the Curve 8900 has popped up as well. Standards rules apply, so use caution when installing this leaked OS. Drop a comment and let us know your findings.

*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions. *

Any idea on what's different about this one??

By: makaveli95 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:26

im stuck in the same reboot cycle that most of the bold users arse stuck in. Been two hours and havent even seen my homescreen yet.

By: skitchbeatz | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:55

looks like .348 is a bad number

By: Kcy101 | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 23:25

Umplug USB When its waiting for the phone to reboot. it should be fine after the software is installed. Sometimes I notice that the 8900 and bold wont boot up while in USB

By: Zefal151 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:29

i havent noticed anything different yet, but then im not as indepth as some of the other people on here

By: syquest1 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:30

I am guessing that RIM has accidentally forgotten about the Tour?

By: TMFoughty | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 12:45

Accidentally on Purpose...

By: tim.zachmann | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 13:13

agreed this is ridiculous!

By: samgbx | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:38

When is there going to be an OFFICIAL release!!?

By: Tapeworm | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:40

.314 can be a little sluggish at times. Anyone know if its worth moving up to .348?

By: Cajunberry | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:59

Before i install this leak, can someone confirm that the date on the files says October 30, 2009 7:31 p.m. I just want to make sure that I am installing the correct verison.

By: BlackBerryr | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 18:59

By: stlouie65 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 19:18

I'd like to say that the banner for the Firmware Leaks are AWESOME!

By: roulduke | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 22:17

I like it too!

By: Kcy101 | Date: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 16:38

Very EYE Catching

By: th3blinded | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 19:36

I've got this downloaded now, waiting to hear from others if there are any significant changes good/bad before i load it. I'm currently on .314

By: bluke | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 19:46

UMA on this leak is horrible. On .314 UMA was very clear, now on this new leak there is interference and it sounds like VOIP on a very slow internet connection. I'm downgrading back to .314.

By: c_deedmatch | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 19:49

Can't wait to get home and look at this further!

By: smiddereens | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 19:56

Hopefully the battery life I was getting with 5.0.0.190/238 is back; I couldn't even make it a full day on 5.0.0.314. We'll see!

By: callcom | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 21:26

.314 was pretty stable and had excellent battery life for me on my unlocked TMO 8900. So far, this build installed without any issues, and no problems to report at this time. They have to be getting close to a final build on 5.0 I would imagine.

NOTE: Noticed I wasn't getting delivery confirmation on SMS messages and BBM. Did a battery pull, getting delivery confirmation on BBM, but not on SMS Text Messages.

By: steviebigv | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 20:20

Just updated a few hours ago on my Rogers 8900...so far everything seems very stable. Speed is as fast as .314, all apps are running well, the music player seems to be working quicker, next tracks come up very fast...not sure if that is just me paying more attention but regardless all is well. I was having problems connecting to UMA on .314 but .348 connected right away so I hope it stays that way. If I see anything different I will post again...cheers!

By: steven_a1991 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 20:39

downloading...

By: shooto_ed | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 21:21

Some of the bugs I noticed were in the Media center. For example, when i would delete a video, sometimes it would not be removed from the list. 348 so far has fixed this.

Other issues I had were messages and Facebook messages not deleting. Hopefully this leak fixes them too.

By: abezapata | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 21:50

Got it installed and I can already see some performance and visual improvements.

By: Gammaxgoblin | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 21:56

3 attempt at install. Each time loader tries to connect to boot ROM, the device continuously restarts and the install process dies here.

By: NART | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 21:57

So far I can't see the difference between this and .314... :/

By: iLovemy_bb | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 22:10

...if you need help go to my youtube channel... www.youtube.com/krutchaz

I am currently downloading it and everything is smooth so far

By: turbo_holic | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 22:10

I havent Noticed Anything Different On This OS than is predecessor the .314

it downloaded good and installed, no problems what so ever

All my apps work on it

By: roulduke | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 22:20

5.0.0.190 was giving me problems I don't know a thing atbout .314 . I can't wait till there is an official release. RIM hasn't had anything but 4.6 that I had and needed more.

By: JIH2009 | Date: Wed, 11/11/2009 - 23:55

Just installed it with no problems..smooth and quick!

By: BlackBerryr | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 00:31

For some reason, I couldn't get uma to work on .314. But .348 has fixed this! :) I'm a happy camper!

By: mattphotographs | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 00:57

I've had 5.0.0.314 installed for about a week and a half and today it gave me app errors and wouldn't open txting and gave me a messaging error. Wiped and reinstalled. If only this leak came out a few hours ago. Haha. MyFaves disappeared which I don't really care about, wonder if they will show up with this version.

Stoked to get home to download and install this.

By: Amazingsteve | Date: Thu, 11/12/2009 - 02:24

I have tried 5.0.0.238, 314, and the newest .348 and all have worked well except for my phone overheating and not charging correctly or holding a charger for no more than a few hours. Am i doing something wrong???????
