Leaked: OS 5.0.0.273 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630
If you didn't get in on the OS 5.0 action yet, you may want to give it a go this time around. It has been less than a month since we saw OS 5.0.0.230 leak for the Tour, and today OS 5.0.0.273 for the Tour 9630 surfaced on the web. Reports are mixed on this one, so be sure to let us know how it works out for you. As always, use caution when installing a leaked OS.

I've been reading in other forums that this version crashes and freezes a lot. I would stick with .230 or the Hybrid .230/.238
It's really a shame, I've been sitting at the edge of my chair waiting on a new Tour OS

DAMNIT verizon better get on the bus... been waitin for 5.0 for freakin ever now. too scurred to try a leaked, i just want my trackball to work rite!! seriously how long does it take, maybe that verizon guy from the commercials should get in there and kick some @ss for us instead of doin game shows and stuff..

the trackball problem has nothing to do with the software. i thought the same thing for the longest time until a read of a new hardware version with the trackball fixed. i called verizon and sure enough it was a known issue and without any further questions they sent me out a replacement phone (with a green dot sticker on the outside of the phone's box) and it has been working brilliantly since! i recommend you give them a call too! good luck!

I thought the same thing as well. Recieved a Green Dot Tour from Verizon and couldnt be happier. It's a known issue, dont wait for 5.0, replace your Tour now. You will be happy you did. It's a completely different experience.

i was running .230 on my vzw tour, we will see. i had problems getting notified on my texts. ill let yall know how it runs. i only run bbmessenger, beejive (sometimes) and social scope.

i wanted that app for my vzw tour and it said verizon was not compatible and cannot use that app and would not let me download it.....

Hello i read that you had problems trying to download beejive on your tour. Im having the same problem, keeps saying it has to meet system requirements.i have a brand new tour so im assuming everything is up to date. You had any luck?

.230 is more stable....and i dont see any updates worth jumping to it but to each is own......i have had to do about 4 battery pulls in about an hour.....

I am running the last OS verizon released which is gay. Ive searched everywhere but the link for .230 on megaupload says the page is unavailabe. anyone know where i could find that OS to download since this one apparently is garbage?

this OS is garbage. Wait for the official release. I installed this OS and my BBM and 90% of my apps are gone, plus my internet doesn't work now and my Blackberry App Store is nowhere to be found.

now that I finally have everything reinstalled on my phone this new OS works really good as long as I don't send or receive calls/texts, try to open facebook or ESPN and go into my games. As long as I don't do any of those mentioned things the phone will not freeze. Maybe they can leak a 5.1 that just makes the phone blow up in my face!

This OS is far too unstable. This OS freezes and causes random restarts. I haven't had those since my old Palm Treo 650 and I'm not about to start backsliding to that point now! I'm downgrading back to .230 It was very stable for me. Anyone want a used Storm? Great shape! I hate that I cant get it to work on Sprint's network. Verizon is just too expensive!

I'm also having problems with random reboots. While it works its pretty nice. I love the SMS being integrated into BBM. Although one thing mine was constantly doing was telling me that it thought I was in a new time zone anytime I tried to make a phone call. The major thing though that is causing me to downgrande is that it caused my phone to stop being able to charge on a wall charger. It see's the USB charge fine but if it can't see a wall charger no point in me keeping this on here for now.

If you have any idea what you are doing and want a 5.0 on your Tour download a hybrid version. It works great! If not then don't post how you don't. Also if you have a HARDWARE issue a SOFTWARE update will not fix it.

nothing but problems with this OS. mutiple battery pulls, and tons of freezing. Didnt allow me to charge with the wall charger, keyboard doesnt light up when pressed in the dark. doesnt stay connected to the 1XEV network for me, cuts in and out saying searching for CDMA when im in an area where ive always had a clear connection! too many bugs in this os, wait for the official !

I have used this os on my Tour and it's perfect, facebook, myspace, blackerry appworld, everything works except sprint navigation (don't care) and I can't get media sync to connect to my device but desktop manager works fine -
This os is great- it works just fine and I'm loving the improved browser, the new options in the theme (like today), the word suggestions, the threaded sms, it really works fine- you people who have had problems with this are crazy or not good at os installation one or the other-
my version is identical to this except the branding is 1.0.104...

and instead of that skiddish time when the phone just boots up when it scans your media card- with this version it doesn't really do a scan when it starts up - so it's much better than the 4.7.1 versions-

5.0.0.273 is complete crap. Installed last night. Once complete, I put it on the charger and went to bed. This morning it was hung. Pulled the battery and hung during reboot. Pulled battery again and it came up to only last 15 minutes before it hung again. then the battery pull X2 AGAIN. I gave it a couple of hours of play timeand gave up. Wiped the device, and went down to 5.0.0.230. No problems this far and I have benn using all day. Boot time is still 6 -7 minutes.230 is pretty stable thus far. Looking forward to the official release! I like OS 5 over 4.7

I have 4.7.1.61 and that's it I haven't changed anything on my tour, have verizon, I'm trying to find a better OS but I need one ota if possible? The links all on here are getting shut down. Can anyone email me, I need a mentor so I can get my phone running better and faster and more reliable.

is anyone having issues with set tones for contacts? I have some personal tones set for certain contacts, but their sms txt tone comes through as the default tone, and not the ones I have set for them. And its only on a couple of my contacts. Can anyone help, or explain?
