Leaked: Firmware 5.0.0.238 for the BlackBerry Curve 8520

I sort of feel bad for any "uninitiated" BlackBerry users stumbling upon CrackBerry.com today for the first time... the homepage blogs are full of these scary looking white screen captures full of funny numbers that likely don't mean much. But to the hardcore CrackBerry users out there, it's a joyous sight to behold. Next in line up for some OS 5.0 love is the newly released BlackBerry Curve 8520 which also gets version 5.0.0.238 software. This is pretty huge news. So many OS updates with the same version number, even sharing the same Known Issues log... all great signs that an official OS 5.0 rollout will happen sooner than later, and will likely hit at once to all devices that are going to get the update.

i have tried this link twice & it doesnt install the 5.0.0.230 software.. it continues to duplicate a 4.7 software. as well as now causing other little device issues duplicating icons, erasing some apps.. i would NOT use that RapidShare .230 download for the Tour 9630.

Kevin, you're buring the midnight, err, early morning oil with all these new 5.0 leaks! Definitely feeling the love from RIM, finally. The question still remains about BBM 5.0 (or is it 2.5? whatever.): is there going to be a new leak that's compatible with the 5.0 OS's?

I don't even have any of these devices that the .238 is leaking on and I'm still excited....w00t. Bring on 5.0 please!!! I'm sick of this .190 on my Bold....the radio is just plain terrible.

So far so good with this OS I find when keeping a conversation open too long while sending SMS texts it lags a little. Besides that I've loved all the new upgrades!
