Following up on 5.0 love for Storm 9530 owners, this morning OS 5.0.0.140 leaked out for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. It's popped up in our CrackBerry forums early this morning, but here's some link love for others who got it on their blogs.
*OS Disclaimer - This is an unofficial release. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions.
*
* Don't Forget: Once you install the OS onto your PC, go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall RIM Internal Apps 5.0. If you leave this installed on your PC, when you update your device Qunicy will get loaded up too (RIM's beta tracking program). Also, if the download link goes down, just be sure to surf through the forums to find a mirror. *

Hey Kevin, maybe you should remove the below from the OS Disclaimer as this is a leak "not" available from BlackBerry.com. Figured you simply "cut and paste" and somehow used the disclaimer from when you posted about Blackberry's release of the Desktop Manager 5.
<<*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Even though this is downloadable from BlackBerry.com, we'll put the same disclaimer up as for an unofficial release... >>

Look at the comments on the 9530 there are too many problems to count. I am very happy that I didn't install it

my browser didnt work, i didnt have facebook or my BBM. everything else worked fine and there are few additions in the applications. now u can finally see what time you made, missed, or received each call right from your call log which is nice. and the long bootup time isnt so bad now that it says Blackberry with a loading bar instead of a boring hour glass. i reverted back within an hour but as soon as the real deal pops up i'll be back @ it. i just couldnt go without my BBM and browser

I downgraded back to 4.7.0.148... If I deleted email without opening them, the 'new message' indicator (envelope) did not change in number. If I had 20 emails that I didn't read, and deleted them all, the new message indicator stayed at 20, and kept growing as new mail came in. I had to actually pull the battery (hard boot) to get the message indicator to wipe out. Also, lost the use of facebook and myspace. System didn't move any faster than the lower OS. Some nice graphic changes, but that isn't worth what I lost. Now, after downgrading the OS, I have to reinstall all the apps that I lost. :(
I do not recommend this version. And unless you are a BB administrator, or are very familiar with removing the OS and reprovisioning, then I would stay away from trying this. Just my thoughts.
Let it be known: I do love my BB Storm!
