Leaked: OS 4.6.1.239 for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 Posted in BlackBerry OS on 08 May 2009 16:22 by David Boyd |
What a week this has been for OS leaks! We had two earlier this week, and now here is the latest 4.6 leak to hit the web. I don't know how much more it has to offer from 4.6.1.231, but give it a try if you want to see for yourself. Check out the forum discussion if you are looking for some feedback before installing. *OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions. *

yeah what a week.... for everyone else besides us storm users...
You storm users are starting to annoy me, go back to your forum or BUY an 8900 like us. There won't be any software update for the Storm from verizon for another 2 centuries. So don't wait anymore :)
storm official please?
Why cant you storm users just wait, and stop complaining about not getting a release.... its super annoying. updating when I get home, i will keep everyone posted as soon as its complete.
Hey Verizon... OFFICIAL STORM OS NOW!!! We are all pissed at you. Give us an update, this joke isn't funny anymore!
Go post in the storm section....
Verizon don't care if you're pissed at their OS release. If you've signed into a contract for their phone, they've got your money whether you're happy or not.
Also, try the .141/5.0 hybrid as it works incredibly well on my friend's storm. She has one of the buggiest storms EVER but it's been almost without a hitch since we loaded the hybrid.
Anyway, time to try out this new OS.
Storm users = Cry babies
Bold/8900 users = Leaders of the pack
get the picture? Get it?, Got it? Good....lol
Cry babies because we won't settle for sub-par performance from our phones? If we did we would be stuck with a lack of coverage on a slow network with 80 dropped calls a day on ATT and T-mobile like you.
Crybabies because everytime there is a post about a leak that's not for you, you blow up the comments about how you're getting the shaft and VZW sucks. It's a PITA trying to actually read about the changes/updates when you have to sift through the mountain of complaints from storm owners that are totally irreleveant to what the article is about.
You have a forum, use it. Let people who want to speak on the actual topic at hand do so.
Also, juvenile stabs at other networks, while they may soothe your whiny inner brat, don't help your case any. Neither one of my berrys bold & pearl(or any of my previous ATT phones) have ever had call dropping problems, while I had to switch out of verizon because they had no signal at my house.
But then I probably shouldn't expect a reasonable, objective opinion from someone who throws a temper tantrum about a lack of OS leaks in the wrong forum.
I'm on Tmo and the only time I drop calls is when I am talking to my brother on AT&T... stop complaining about your OS and download another iphone app for storm.
I need to know if any curve 8900 user try this upgrade yet
80 dropped calls....... Ive had curves for the past 2 years on T-Mo and havent even had a combined total of 10 dropped calls.... so....... stop being bitter about the non-release of anything for the storm... be patient.. it will come.... when the storm 2 is released ;)
just good for now
I just updated and so far so good.... I will use tomorrow all day at work and will update when I am done!!!
I would like to buy for myself a BlackBerry 8900. This kind of devices are really awesome.
hey, any fellow 8900 users try this OS yet?
The link to the forums discussion is just below the post. Click it, a bunch of us have tried it and the feedback is there.
From my experience, in brief, all is well so far.
I updated and so far so good.....but windows live messenger is nor working for now
