The dry spell for BlackBerry Storm2 owners is over. OS 5.0.0.402 has leaked online and is downloadable for all. Grab your cables and fire up apploader or desktop manager to get started. Remeber folks it's a leak, not currently an official OS, take caution. Disclaimers apply as always. Now, where is that Tour, Bold 9000 and 8900 leak?

Dry spell? Are you kidding me? The god damn Tour has been out since July and we've only seen one decent 5.0 leak...oh you poor 9700, 9550, and 85xx owners...I feel so sorry for you when you only manage to get a new leak every week...

Man, I dont mean to sound bitter-Im super stoked for you Storm 2 owners-but how long do we Tour users have to wait for a decent leaked 5.0 OS? I get these blog posts as a tweet (directly to my handset) so I see how all the other devices are getting leaks left and right, but we Tour owners are left out in the cold. The latest leaked 5.0 OS for the Tour is go awful (not a real option) and hybrids suck, so most of us are still on 4.7. Still waiting...

Dry spell is over? Not for the 9550 owners! the 9520 owners have had two leaks and an official release, but nothing for the 9550. Come on with the leaks!!

Verizon rep told me Official OS Update December 16th for Storm 2 9550...she said this a couple weeks ago and said she just got information that there will be an update but she didn't know what version...hope she was right!

My Storm2 rebooted on its own this morning and went to a white screen with a hard to read erro that was something like "xxx error 529". After 4 battery pulls it still boots to this screen. I can't us it at all and have not mad eit in time to hit Verizon. My Storm1, I had 3 within the first 40 days of ownership so convinced them to give me a Storm2. So, now Im 2 days over my 30 day no hassle period and a device that doesn't work. Here we go again........

So, what does this leak bring?

so i'm assuming you have the 9550...
this leak is for 9520... did you install the full version? if you want this leak on your 9550... you have to use only the files in the java folder..

I have tried SEVERAL times. Yes, I deleted the vendor.xml file. I have tried Desktop manager and Loader but no luck.
I just keep getting the message "no software for this device is installed on the PC" or something like that.

Any advice?

I just install this OS on my 9520 and I only have to say, is FANTASTIC!!! with this update you get the Show Key indicator,that means, when you are typing you can see a pop-up indicating the letter that you press, like iphone does.

But if you want activate this future you have to go to Options, Screen/Keyboard and there you can find it.

If you have problems to install this Leak, just uninstall all your previus OS on your pc, then install BBSAK (last update), install the OS wanted, connect your device and run BBSAK, click on Load OS and this will runs Apploader.exe, in this point follow the assistant to get the update.

Where does Desktop Manager put OS versions that5 it downloads over the web? It keeps trying to force me to OS .306

Turn off your internet connection before runs DM, but ensure that you already deleted the vendor file.

In order to get to install this update on DM or Apploader.exe download this one.
