Your chance to download your free Thank You Gift from BlackBerry apps is coming to an end. The promotion ends in about a week on December 31st, meaning if you haven't downloaded your free apps yet, you should do it ... now. The apps are all still available in BlackBerry App World, but once the promo ends they'll be back to full price. As a reminder, you can get the apps below free of charge during the promotion:

  • Shazam Encore
  • Vlingo
  • DriveSafe.ly Pro
  • DriveSafe.ly Enterprise
  • Bubble Bash 2
  • The Sims 3
  • Bejeweled
  • Nobex Radio Premium
  • N.O.V.A.
  • SimCity Deluxe
  • iSpeech Translator Pro
  • Texas Hold'Em Poker 2

All the apps are available for most devices (some are sadly lacking OS 7 support) in BlackBerry App World. Hit the link below to download before your time runs out!

Got them all - For a 1 day outage it's more than enough, thanks RIM.

Hoping for a much better 2012!!!

msrb21

Downloaded NOBEX radio only

shemaree09

Shazam Encore, and iSpeech Translator Pro are good ones too.

Everything else is meh, but I appreciate it though :)

RIM didnt have to give ANYthing for free.

siddo_d

Thanks rim
I got all of these to, hopefully I don't accidently delete them

KRol

back them up with BBSAK ?

MoPiou

I don't think so.
Once i downloaded a free app thanks to CrackBerry. I had to reset my phone and then after the due period if was paid version only !

(Alarm o'clock or something like that, very useful !)

pkcable

Apparently on the 9930 you can't get them all. :(

Mungoflea89

Got all of these too.

But correct me if I'm wrong, even if you delete them, they're still saved with your BB ID so I can download them back anytime on any device for free right ? Even the Blackberry Gift apps

MoPiou

I don't know about it but i doubt it !
cf. precedent post.

Beesh1

Let me get this straight,
if I delete any app or get a new phone or something, they should remain with my BB ID allowing me to download them again right?
If not that is a serious problem!

MoPiou

No, i don't think so, you may be able to install them again quickly through app world : uninstalled app but it will be paid version !

tweak_s

Same question as mungo, I wanted to know also if once the apps are downlaoded if that's "okay". I can only fit so many apps onto a 9700 OS6 device lol. I'm limited with my mmeory so can't have everything :(

MoPiou

I'm afraid not because you have to do the same process again like a new app if you uninstalled them !

only solution is to save the .alx or use bbsak though with bbsak i had problems with updates ...

jsanders

Don't be silly. Once once you've downloaded one of the free gifted apps, you certainly can delete the app and then reinstall it after January 1, still free. Its registered in your account already.

BGK

Yes, I would agree with this - they are in my account and never seem to go away, I have stuff in there from my old curve and 9700 and now my 9900, if it's in your account it will always be there.

derekjdech

All of them but shazam and bejeweled are awful

thecsman

What are you talking about? Vlingo is pretty good, it even listens to you in Spanish!

rickkel

Bejeweled works intermittently on my Torch 9850. I have to delete it and reinstall it to make it work for a few plays. After that, I just get a blank white screen.

Vlingo is wonderful - if you haven't tried it out, it is great.

Shazam is also very cool and it's nice to have the full version.

Thanks BlackBerry....Merry Christmas.

mssca

Some said on App World that Nobex Radio Premium uses the airtime mins... But I thought that it is an Internet radio and use the data NOT the air time minutes. Anyone knows if Nobex Radio Premium use the BIS data plan or the talk time? Thanks.

crack.jack

i have only Vlingo which is pretty useful...

chunt69

Great apps, hopefully highlight the lack OS/7 suport atm. Rim needs to increase app support and app porting asap.

stkola

Deleted them all from my phone

Seigmen

Got a couple of them. Most of them are useless (for me at least). But I think it is a great gesture from RIM as they didn't have to do this. So thank you RIM!

WBSnow

I appreciate RIM giving out some useful apps for an outage that lasted for only 24 hours. Having a Torch 9810, I have noticed that there are some that are not available for my device running OS7.0......

rlfisher

Due to early unreliability, I have avoided AppWorld since it's earliest days - finding direct URLs for downloading almost everything (Facebook, BB Protect, etc.). Is the general feeling here now that AppWorld is reliable/stable enough to begin using it again? I wouldn't mind upgrading to the full version of Shazam...

Beesh1

@rlfisher the full version of Shazam I have felt so useful! Ive used it many many many times since I've got it and my advice to you would be that you should get it too! :)

Seigmen

App world works stable for me (since OS7 came out) so I would say, give it a shot

BBOttawa

A couple of them are very useful, I downloaded and deleted some of them because I'm 99% sure you can re-download them for free if you delete them, so if you might ever need a translator etc. just get them and delete them.

Very happy to get them for free, for what was for most in North America less than a day without push email/BBM, Europe was longer I do realize, and that sucked.

the brother

Nobex & Shazam...thanks RIM.

the rest y'all are garbage!

Piece and happy ho ho's

JackKennedy

Good and bad...

Good that RIM is doing something about the outage, and giving out free apps are good

Bad that not everyone can get the apps, and some of these people are the people affected for the longest duration by the outage, it's slightly unfair for them, and the games were useless and the apps should really have been built in features of the os.

The best thing that BB should be doing is not to give out free apps but work on building or buying/incorporating them to the core os for a BB7 update and the next gen os. BB is the only os with no proper dictation function in the core os, Vlingo and DriveSafe.ly should be a function included in the os, and it would also be a more inclusive move.

Still, this is better than nothing.

Xterra2

Didn't download any
They all suck (n)

adiafzal

In your opinion.
I think a few are quite useful actually.

scalemaster34

Only most of them suck...

tryfe

N.O.V.A?! I dont see that....must not be compatible with OS7.....bah

mousii

Is it true that N.O.V.A doesn't work on OS7? I think this is the highest rated app of all the free ones... Also the Texas Hold'em doesn't seem to be available for OS 7. Very disappointing that they picked apps that are not available for their newest and best devices 9900 and 9930.

tightlybound

Yes, it's true. There are a ton of other apps that aren't available for OS7 phones also (USPS, Kindle, I Heart Radio, and on and on). What good is a new OS when half the apps won't run on it?

thp007

What RIM should have done is to give a credit of $100 on the account so that you could buy the apps that you like or need not the ones they choose. Some of them are useless.

juacas

I got Shazam, Vlingo, NOVA and DriveSafe.ly. I used them all! Thanks RIM, dont mind those who bitch about every little thing!!

slimsh

People still use Blackberry's??

rjkolo

Can anyone tell me why NOVA won't show up when I go to it? Is it not supported on OS 7?

Pyxie

I used an 8310 for NOVA & Texas Hold-em.

iSpeech Translator Pro is now available for OS7 phones. [I thought there was an old comment about a monthly fee, but didn't go through them to see - downloaded it anyway.]
