Iusacell and RIM Release the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in Mexico

Iusacell and RIM have launched the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in Mexico. This model is the first BlackBerry offered in Mexico that has IusaTV, Copilot Ubicacel (GPS) and Iusacell's BAM Broadband Modem Capability. The Pearl will operate on Iusacell's high-speed EV-DO network.

The BAM (Banda Ancha Móvil) technology allows users to use the Pearl as a tethered modem with a computer or laptop.

Also of note is the Iusatv television which gives access to 17 channels as well as video on demand.

Pricing starts at 140 Pesos with a data plan. Customers can also take advantage of a special offer for 2 months free service.
