Come on.. so many people do this on twitter. "follow me! I'm super and gonna give away.." then never follow back or even give a darn about the people who follow. Just another way to boast about followers. Twitter and facebook were started to enable communication between people. Communication is defined as two-way exchange. It's become so one sided now what's the difference than just going to the main webpage? Stick to giving away and contests on main page.

Our twitter team is constantly active. Answering questions, helping people out and offering whatever assitance they can to users. To say the @CrackBerry twitter account is one sided is a little off base.

Have a look for yourself at the activity on that account, it pretty much speaks for its self. Of course we are not going to follow the over 30,000 people but direct questions are answered and answered promptly. Contests are held often and those who are following get the advantage of such things, its just another avenue where we are indeed active.

I still think it would be better to consolidate news, giveaways and leave the live help and hints on twitter then. Plus, I don't see why It would hurt to follow back- it still works the same.

Here is an example of one use of twitter to communicate between people. My 16 year old plays on a AAA hockey team. They play many of their games out of state and most parents or family members can't travel and follow the games. Usually one person at the away games/tournaments texts game/score updates to me. I use a twitter app to post the game/score updates. Followers are text'd the updated scores. Those with smartphones also receive twitter updates through whatever app they are running. It seems everyone is happy with the results.

but when I try to subscribe to your YouTube channel, it tells me I need to confirm an email address before I can subscribe. What's up with that? There is no visible way to confirm my email. In fact, I have a Google account and am already logged in but it still requires a confirmation?

I love the idea, but I use different email addresses for CB, YT and Twitter... how are you going to be able to cross reference? I'm still going to follow, and fan... but entering the contests is a bonus!

looking at the subscriptions, fans, etc of these three categories, i found it interesting that there are more youtube subscriptions than facebook fans. It didn't suprise me that there were a good 11k more people following on twitter than the youtube and facebook peeps combined :P

I am following on all fronts. Just got my dad (76) his first blackberry. My wife has one and I have two (one through work). My 16 year old went from an iPhone to an Android from HTC. That was the best fit for him. I have my dad coming to crackberry regularly. He'll follow on youtube and facebook. Just have to get him to register here. He likes the crackberry site.

I enter just about every CrackBerry contest, because though I know I won't win, I do like to dream.
Anyway, this time I thought, "Hey! Three chances? That's got to be a pretty good shot!"

No.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still hoping every time I enter these contests, but just as an example, here's a little elementary BEDMAS for you to sync your teeth into.

((1/30943)+(1/3384)+(1/3909))*100

As it stands right now, you (or I, rather) have a .05% chance of winning anything. The more people that enter, the more significantly that drops.

Am I disappointed? Yes.

Am I mad? No, I love CrackBerry and follow all these things anyway so it is a pretty wicked contest. I'd get a chance at winning stuff for doing things I'd do anyway. So sticking with that perspective. This is pretty great.
