Moving icons on your BlackBerry 10 device is key. You may want to organize things, keep certain apps together or just change things up from time to time.

Thankfully moving icons is a breeze on BlackBerry 10. There are some easy tasks but this one is on top of the "simple" list. Be it tossing an unused app to the bottom of the screen, lumping all your games together or even grouping them by color - we've got you covered.

Keep reading to find out how to move icons on BlackBerry 10.

BlackBerry 10 Move Icons

  • To move an icon on BlackBerry 10, tap and hold the icon
  • When it starts to "jiggle", drag the icon where you want it.

That's all there is too it - we told you it was easy! If you want to dive in deeper and create folders, we have your back on that one too

pretty much the same as the playbook - so easy to customize for what YOU need. I have read complaints about not being able to customize the phone. MMMM make me think people havent even seen or used the device before writing about it.

cheers

I'd like to see what a folder looks like, you guys have talked about how to make them before but never shown what it actually looks like.

You guys are doing an awesome job though! LOTS of reading to keep me busy :)

On my Z10, when I move an icon, the remaining icons shift to fill in the hole I created. How do I keep icons stay where I put them?

I'm new to the Z10 and Crackberry. Can anyone tell me where I can go to get answers to questions such as the one I posted here 3 weeks ago on how to keep icons where I put them? Or tell me what I have done wrong in making the post. Thanks.

I tried to move an icon from one page to another and it made a folder. How do I get the icons out of the folder?

I'm with bobtarrel on this one. Drives me nuts. Drop it somewhere and the one you just moved goes somewhere else, usually back one spot. It's like playing the rubix cube..

I have a z10 and so does my wife. Love them so much that I bought one for my father. The problem with his unit is that the icons will not move. Ever. I hold them down till the icon pulsates but I can't get them to move to another page. Forward or backwards. I know how to do it it having not only rearranged my icons and but also have created folders. On his unit, they won't move. It has been like that since he took it out of the box. Help!!!. Is there some setting I need to change to make it work?

Hi. I know this thread is ancient, but maybe I get lucky and someone comes across my comment;-)
The issue I have here, and I am probably doing something wrong, is that when dragging the icon I am moving, it moves so damn fast that I have no control over where I place it. When dragging an icon from screen1 to screen2, it easliy "flies past" screen2 and ends up on a (new) screen3. Not even mentioning the moving of an iconf from screen1 to a folder in screen2. I have succeeded with that but only as a two-step prcocess: Move to screen2 by being fast enough at letting loose, then move from screen to the folder. Surely I'm missing something here, people would scream loudly, I think, if this was a problem that everyone has..... Thx in advance for any comments + rgds / Mats

Commenting in an old thread again, just can't help it, at least my BB Classic is new, and I am new to Smartphones;-)
OK: I am able to move icons from one app screen to the next and I hav collected some of them in a couple of different folders. However, in the description here it sounds really easy. I struggled a lot: When I drag an icon, it whizzes past the target screen so fast that I don't have time to drop it, as if I would be dragging it too far. I'm sometimes lucky and able to stop at the right time. It is not like this is getting any easier when I am targeting a folder and not just a screen. I am wondering what I am doing wrong? thx in advance:-) / Mats
