How to enable / disable threaded emails on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0

Threaded Emails

Threaded email is a life saver for me, and a must have for my organizational needs both on device and on my computer. When I lauched the email on my BlackBerry PlayBook after updating to OS 2.0 and I saw individual emails instead of threads, I immediately went into panic mode. That was until I remembered there are settings for a reason, and probably a way for that to be changed. Luckily once I calmed down changing the way the emails appeared in the inbox was a breeze, so let's take a minute to look at how it is done.

  1. Launch your email inbox
  2. Swipe down from top bezel
  3. Tap on settings icon
  4. Click on "Display As" under Message List
  5. Change from Single Message to Conversation
  6. Click Back in top left corner
Just like that, problem solved. The emails will automatically group themselves up just as they would on the computer, and back in business you are. Toggling between the two options is extrememly easy, and something you can do while on the go if needed. How to enable / disable threaded emails on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0

Yep, pretty cool to find this feature. Because of the volume of email at work with many being ongoing conversations I use it all the time in Outlook. Now that I have my work email via our Exchange server on my PB along with my other email accounts it is essential, especially for the unified inbox.

And I love the option to turn off the notifications, since I get most of my email on the Bridge, but didn't want to totally disable the native email.

Lawmom4 you can turn off the email in bridge as well, I like using the Native email a little better than bridge. Just goto bridge on your phone and then options.

When I delete an email on Playbook its still in my mail on laptop and vice versa....how to fix as I have to delete 2x...ugh!

Good lord this cleaned up my inbox. Thanks!!! I haven't had much time to explore these options and it probably would have taken me weeks to figure this one out.

The email client apparently does not appear to sync IMAP folders correctly. After deleting an email on a PC at home, all other devices I may have on at the time, (Other PC's, android phone) all show that the folders are now empty, but the email remains on the Playbook. The accounts are set up properly as IMAP accounts. Anyone else notice this and, if so, what did you see and do about it (if anything)?
Thanks
