One of the things I love most about my BlackBerry is the ability to have a different alert tone for every app on the device. What this means is that when a notification comes in I know what it is without having to even look at the device. If you are a new BlackBerry Z3 user you'll want to take advantage of this awesome feature as it really does make the whole BlackBerry 10 user experience much better.
Making the changes is super easy and you can alter as many or as little apps as you desire. Although many of us rely of the blinking LED on our BlackBerry, I'm a big fan of the notification tones and use a load of different ones.
Getting things tweaked only takes a few seconds. Just follow these simple steps:
Open Settings (pull down from the top bezel)
Select Notifications
Select Applications where you will be presented with a list of all your apps
Choose the app you want and then from the 'Tone' box you will be able to dive into your music or tones stored either on your device or media card
Select the one you want and you're all done
The same applies for contacts too. You can have a different tone for your different friends if you want which is a nice touch.
I'm not sure there is another mobile OS that offers as much customization as we get on BlackBerry 10. So grab your new BlackBerry Z3 and get customizing the tones. It's kinda fun.
