This was a big week for Google as they held their long awaited Android 3.0 Honeycomb event on Wednesday. While this may be an OS for Android tablets, that doesn't mean you can't replicate the look and feel of it on your BlackBerry smartphone! WJD Designs has handcrafted a beautiful new theme appropriately titled HoneyBerry to do just that.

The HoneyBerry UI was built from the ground up, and it looks and performs incredibly. The home screen holds 6-8 icons (depending on device), awesome new battery and signal meters, and a handy Google search widget so you can always find what you need right from home! From here, you can use the arrows at the bottom left of the screen to scroll to a full page for calendar entries, and in the other direction a full page for messages. That's a great feature for all of you busy and organized people out there! There are many other hotspots and keyboard shortcuts integrated into HoneyBerry, which makes this theme super functional and highly desirable.

HoneyBerry is available for $3.99 and is currently compatible with the BlackBerry 9100, 96xx, 9700, and 95xx (OS 5.0) as well as the 9650, 97xx, and 9800 on BB6.

Contest: Wayne at WJD Designs has given us 25 copies of HoneyBerry to pass on to you! If you have one of the compatible devices listed above and want to enter to win a free copy, simply leave a comment below. One entry per person please, contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Good luck! PS: Video of it in action can be found after the break.

This is awesome! Especially handy for those of us who were choosing between android and BB and went with BB :)

This sounds great keep me in mind you and your great apps and give aways so a Google with a bb can't beat that.

yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please yes please

omg... can android get any uglier!?!

no offence to the designer of this as they've copied it quite well.

This looks REALLY cool!! Would be nice to make everyone think I am running an Android OS on my BlackBerry!! I know so many people that would be so jealous.

Yes, I want a copy. I just got a tablet and love the Android theme and would love to have it on my 9700 as well. Hope it runs on OS6 as I currently have a leak installed. Crossing my fingers!

WOW! That's a good theme! I would bend over backwards and sit on a bowl of cornflakes just have this!!! Sorry, way to much caffeine this AM!

I'm in, if I win I hope this one actually works well on OS6! I've uninstalled every 3rd party theme on my Torch :(

I could really use a new OS for my BB 9650. I've been searching and searching and even purchased some thinking they were 6.0 compatible and weren't. I'd love to get a copy of this. Thanks!

Come on crackberrry pick a torch owner. When will the really cool themes be free>> I know ppl want to make money but Come on Son

Not me! Don't pick me! I've never thought android UI's are attractive, this one included. No offense to the designer of the BB copy,

OMG!!! l would LOVE this for my BB Bold 9650, especially since I just upgraded it to OS6 and hate it. This would make things much better ha ha!

I'm lovin all the themes that are now compatible with my OS6 9700. This would be a great addition to my theme's. Thanks

come on crackberry come on crackberry give us honeyberry give us honeyberry!!!
-another great theme from wjd.. They keep 'em rollin.. which is nice... now for some combos... honeyberry with some honeybabies.... mmmmmm.... sweet...

It would be lovely to win this i could show my friends how i have a blackberry with the new android os and get them all freaked out :P

Wow... did anyone at Crackberry actually install and attempt to use this theme before posting the article?

I can only speak for my own experience with my 9650 (OS6, VZW network) but this theme looks and acts a bit half-baked... like it would have benefited from some more time on the development and testing side.

The user interface is laggy (although it's a great simulation the joy/sheer frustration of drunken BlackBerry navigation), the system menu screens don't reflect font changes, the email "inbox" view is stacked/overlapped and subject lines are cut off, and the Google Search widget doesn't work (it attempts to launch Global Search, then Universal Search... but never the Google Search widget despite the fact that Google Search is installed).

Who knew that a frustrating experience could cost on $3.99?

Maybe I should have tried to win a copy first, before actually shelling out the $4?
