Leaked OS 10.0.10.261 for the BlackBerry Z10
If you're running an older OS on your Blackerry Z10, you'll be happy to know that an updated version has leaked today. The update will bring you to 10.0.10.261 but unfortunately will require a Windows PC to install. No reports back on this version just yet, but you can assume it fixes some issues but might have some new ones as well. If you're willing to give it a go, you can head into the forums to grab the installer and for full instructions. If it goes downhill, remember you can always wipe and restore your device.
As always - use caution when installing a leaked OS like this and remember if you break your phone it's not our fault :)

Guinea pigs, anyone?
Adam Zeis Feb 15, 2013 at 2:14 pm
It's got a few bugs here and there but otherwise no issues for me. Bla1ze on the other hand couldn't even get it to load up .. so ..

How on Earth are we seeing a leaked OS? Wasn't the QNX platform to be done with this?

It seems that I am running an even newer version anyways. I bought my z10 locked and unlocked it to work with wind mobile and a few days ago wind pushed a 10.0.10.32 update and that's what I have now.
RIM is the best and I am a crackberry addict.
Kuttysark Feb 15, 2013 at 2:14 pm
It's the same version. I also have it (See my twitter @kuttysark , I got the update OTA). Type myver_ in a bbm convo where the underscore is a space.
mrfreeze574 Feb 15, 2013 at 2:14 pm
How is that newer? Yours is 10.0.10.32 and the one here is 10.0.10.261.

reread that... at the end of the day .32 > .261

I can just see him arguing with the cops over an impaired charge:)
you sir name Feb 15, 2013 at 3:27 pm
Lol k, now THAT would actually be correct.
jjetson Feb 15, 2013 at 3:29 pm
Not in this case it isn't 261 > 32. Software versioning isn't the same as rational numbers. Think of version 1.0.0.99 and 1.0.0.100. which do you think is newer?
thisiscjay Feb 15, 2013 at 3:34 pm
+1
ddlax22 Feb 15, 2013 at 4:20 pm
Well because .32 is higher than .261
More numbers don't make it higher in this case lol.
mrfreeze574 Feb 15, 2013 at 9:01 pm
Duh! My bad. I knew that. Sorry guys.
prez87 Feb 15, 2013 at 2:12 pm
Wow already! This is why I love bb!
neteng1000 Feb 15, 2013 at 2:14 pm
I am running 10.0.9 but I would rather wait for the official release before I mess around with this. I have only had it for 3 days now :P
borceg Feb 15, 2013 at 2:19 pm
Stop your horses please - this is ONLY for OMAP based Z10 (and Dev Alpha also)
leafs123 Feb 15, 2013 at 2:19 pm
I thought BB10, just like the PB, would not have "leaked" software.
gregorylkelly Feb 15, 2013 at 3:12 pm
I think most leaks come from carriers, which is why the PB OSes don't leak. Also, I think I do remember saeeing leaked PB 3g OSes leak, although I could be wrong about that....
johnsoj2us Feb 15, 2013 at 2:21 pm
dangit!! hurry up and get here march!!!!! sweet, leaked versions of bb10.
borceg Feb 15, 2013 at 2:25 pm
Correct one for Qualcomm based Z10 (LTE derivatives that are available in canada, US/UK, Germany/France) is Autoload.10.0.10.261.0x8400240a.0x8500240a.0x87002 40a.exe

This is me hoping that this update means soon they will have a US release date!!!
chrysaurora Feb 15, 2013 at 2:51 pm
Does this update add any new features? For eg:
- BB 7 users wanted fine-grained sound-profiles to be available on BB 10. Does it add that?
- There was also feature request for modifying some default behaviors of the 'hub' ?
mnc76 Feb 15, 2013 at 3:41 pm
+1 I'm holding off on the z10 until it can at least do all the stuff my bb7.1 9810 can do. But when the Aristo comes out, I'm gonna get that no matter what the state of the software :)
jameskennedy Feb 18, 2013 at 6:28 pm
Aristo? What's that?
Rootbrian Feb 19, 2013 at 5:22 am
Code name for a blackberry that might not even see the light of day. Internal leaks can change very quickly once released. ;)
Call it fantasy until it's solid.
alpinechem Feb 15, 2013 at 2:52 pm
I am running 10.0.9.348
Alooi Divona Feb 15, 2013 at 3:12 pm

SCrid2000 Feb 15, 2013 at 3:14 pm
It doesn't.
SCrid2000 Feb 15, 2013 at 3:15 pm
I posted this over a week ago at http://OpenSourceBB.com
ifraser Feb 15, 2013 at 3:39 pm
Yeah, you posted it and it left my z10 useless until i have restored an OS with the correct radio.
Also link doesnt backup your contact links so beware if changing OS
I had to wipe and restore from the BB Website.
Major PITA
But I will say thank you for sharing, we dont learn without experimenting.

to clear something up for some people.. there is a different between OS version and Software Release...
the OS version for this is the one showing 10.0.10.261
the Software Release is probably a lower number like 10.0.10.34
on the devices on Rogers
Software Release is 10.0.9.348
OS Version is 10.0.9.2372
so people saying they have 10.0.9.348 is the same as people that are saying they have 10.0.9.2372..

I have had this version since the launch event and I can def assure you it is not worth upgrading. I was also told a day ago, that a "new" version will be dropping very, very soon. This new version is supposed have a bunch of bug fixes and OS improvements. I am currently experiencing a text message sending delay and they are hoping this new version addresses the issue.
Let me know if you have any other questions I can answer.
PS: I am not sure it is specifically mentioned anywhere, but BB10 does not support Exchange Memo and Task sync if you are on Exchange 2007 or below. To me this is a HUGE deal, that no one seems to have brought up. I have documentation from Blackberry that this is in fact true and not just a config issue.

OTA I checked for an update on my Z10 and it says I'm up to date. I'm currently using 10.0.9.348.
Now, I plugged my Z10 into my Mac using Blackberry Link and voila - there's an update! Odd... OTA should have picked it up. The update however is 10.0.9.2372 which is the OS Version part of the 10.0.9.348 Software Release.
Hmmmm... odd....

I'm using an STL100-2 evaluation unit on the Telstra network in Australia. The web update worked for me once I removed the SIM card. It's been updated to 10.0.10.261.
Thanks for the tip.
