Been trying to figure out whats going on with my Facebook app since last night!! Appreciate the info - Hopefully theyll get it fixed soon :)

maybe it's the good time for RIM to upgrade Facebook to a new hot version...just an idea :)))

My notifications are coming through fine, but when I try to do ANYTHING ("liking" something, responding to a comment, writing on a wall, updating my status, etc.), I get nothing but assorted error messages. I even tried deleting the app itself and starting over, and that was a huge mistake. I barely got logged back in. It literally took six tries before I was in.

But, I think my area has been having a BIS issue. My 9700 and my friend's 8310 have both been constantly switching to GSM and not letting us on the Internet. I've went over a day with no BIS connectivity at all, unless I use the Wi-Fi at my house (and even that is iffy sometimes).

It's NOT an AT&T issue (even though both of our BlackBerrys are AT&T), because all of my friends with iPhones are having no trouble. Neither are my friends with dumb phones (Samsung Flight, Impression, Razr, etc.). It's a BlackBerry issue, and it's pissing me off.

Hopefully they will fix this faster than the issue thats affecting unlocked berries on the t-mobile network.

Facebook issue is addressed before the Unlocked Storms outage issue LOL! Good priorities RIM. I "Like"

FB app for BB is horrible. They need to do a complete overhaul.

I think the problems with RIM will get worse... too much is at the mercy of the BIS servers...

Seriously, I don't understand why anyone uses the FB app over either of the two mobile website options. The only thing I can think is that a lot of users don't have the sophistication to rig a way to easily access a web page, but if you have something like QuickLaunch (which really ever BB user should have), I hit spacebar then "F" and it loads up the FB mobile site. How hard is that?

More importantly, the mobile site can display a lot more information than the app, and doesn't show a stupid "refreshing stream" logo for 30 seconds at a time.

I've been using a service called 'Flexamail' (http://www.flexamail.com). It ties in Twitter, Facebook and others and performs postings and updates via email. Works fine on the Blackberry since it just uses plain text to do updates, etc, over POP3. And it's free.

I refreshed the cache in the FB app and things started working again. I don't know if this was timed with a fix on RIM/FB's end or not.

The Facebook for iPhone sucks. It was constantly not working right when I had one.

To the people bitching about how much the facebook app for blackberry sucks in comparison to apple. Remember that the iphone is ONE phone, ONE resolution. The app for Blackberry has to cater to ALL Blackberry phones. Just think of ALL the different OS's, screen resolutions, touch screen/non touch screen, etc..Fuck, you are all waayyy to addicted to facebook anyway.

I know I'm not alone on this one. It's THE WORST BlackBerry app ever! This alone makes me wanna switch to an iPhone...

The only reason I have the app is to upload mobile photos. I have a facebook icon that just popped up on my berry and I have no notifications. Can anyone confirm that there wasn't any update

honestly i think this is one of the worst apps in terms of functionality you cant look at peoples "info" and you dont get all of your notification and recently all the comments i try to post on my friends profile don't go through

Seems to working fine for the last couple of hours. Hopefully we will get an upgrade soon with chat. :)

There has definitely been a problem with Facebook for Blackberry. I'm sure we've all experienced it, and it's more than annoying. Hopefully, it'll be solved soon. We'll just have to see. But RIM should be working on an even more critical problem: the poor reception (voice and data) of the 9650. It's appalling! I upgraded from the Curve 8330, which NEVER had a problem, to the 9650 which has a consistent problem. It seems to have a mind of its own; whether or not to give me 5 bars or 1-2 bars (sometimes no bars) from the same locations. This is a HUGE problem! This, along with a very weak battery, is something all 9650 owners seem to be expressing. I've known loyal Blackberry users who've opted to switch to HTC (notably the EVO) rather than continue to put up with the terrible reception. Is it the phone? Or is it OS 5? Forget about OS 6. Fix what's you've already released; either the 9650 or OS 5! Other than the battery and the reception, the 9650 is a nice phone. Why not make it truly great by fixing it?!

Has anyone tried to contact RIM directly? They seem to only make forums available for contact...with other RIM customers. There seems to be no way to get a question answered directly by anyone at RIM. Maybe they just don't give a damn about feedback about their devices. Too bad. They're losing customers in droves to HTC and others.

So now we are just back to dead slow, inability to do anything other than view posts (albeit without the persons picture)

Meh, so the Facebook app was working worse than it usually does?

It wasn't just Facebook for me, it was browsing, weather, Youmail feed, etc. Everything "data" went black for several hours.

I've heard a lot of ppl having issues with facebook but I use other apps to get on FB and no issues with social bet snaptu etc.

I just hope I don't jynx myself now

This really is the worst Facebook App ever.Mine has never worked since day one till a few weeks ago I started to get notifications. After almost two years it finally started. Lol. I just use it to jump to the mobile site. Don't know why I don't just bookmark the page and delete the app. They need to stop listing FB as a special feature offered on blackberry phones. Deffinately not a selling point. Come on RIM! I still love my 9530, no matter how much of a piece of crap it is. Lol

I have never been able to get the notifications stream to update by itself on any of my Blackberries.

i am using BB 9700, my FB logo dispappeared long back ago. i really dont undetstand the reason, WHY RIM? can anyone explain me if i have not uninstalled myself the apps logo disappeared. ELSE is good. better quit using FB apps on BB.

I remember when FB 1.5 came out and you were able to sync your contact list with your address book, and have your facebook contact profile pictures show up when they called you.

When I try to do this now it is grayed out. The option is there, but it just does not work. Has anyone else experienced this?

Things never slowed down for me. I'm using Facebook 1.8 beta though...

u would think that with all the new phone out there they should keep up with all the application and all lol .

i have a problem with facebook for blackberry at least once a week. I get the unable to retrieve post message all the time. I think this app is due for an update...

To me, it seems that there are just more issues with the Facebook for Blackberry app than the problem they are currently trying to address... I don't know how many people will vouch for the Facebook for Blackberry app as being very usefull to be honest. I've used the one on the iPhone and I hate to admit it but letting the people at Facebook run with the application and actually writte up the software instead of holding it like the people at RIM seem to have done on this one was a key differenciator in the useability of the app.

My 2 cents.. I think RIM needs to go back on the drawing board on this one... Over 1 million download of this app, you'd think it might be a call to make sure its users appreciate the experience.

I agree 110%. A complete overhaul is needed on the Facebook app. The interface is too slow and disorganized. When I try to load a picture to my mobile uploads it NEVER works. I ALWAYS have to email it. I've re-installed the app several times and it never seems to work properly.

I've completely lost contact with Facebook because I'm never on the site while on the computer.

I have the Curve 8830 from Verizon and my facebook for blackberry is always iffy when trying to update my status and never uploads pics anymore verizon said its not there problem and facebook support isn't anyhelp either so i use the volt browser to access facebook it just takes longer.

its not working facebook 1.7.22 is garbaggeeeeee...1.6 is working fine and when i installed 1.7 it says no network found n blah blahhhh then why the hell 1.6 is working 1.7 is crapyyyyyyy like hell...i heard 1.8 beta is fine but not able to find its download website if anyone can help in this regard!!!

I have not been getting my calls, they go straight to voice mail, and I don't even get a missed call notification. Then I get a voice mail, a couple of hours after the call has been received.
This has been happening for a while. Took the phone back to Sprint, and they couldn't see anything wrong, so they replaced the phone. I have had the new phone for 2 days now and it is doing the same thing. I am wondering if it has something to do with Facebook, as I just added the app about a month ago so was thinking when FB is getting newsfeed and someone is trying to call me, I won't receive it or get notification.
Anyone know anything about this. I know it has to be a problem on my end now as this is the 2nd phone, my husband has the same phone and does not have FB app on his and he has no problems.
Thanks in advance for any help/ideas in this matter.
