Gym Technik Launches For BlackBerry Storm, With A Treat!

Gym Technik Now on BlackBerry StormWhile many of you are probably enjoying Holiday treats and drinks, the guys at Gym Technik have been working hard on their BlackBerry fitness app, to help give you a head start on your New Year's fitness resolution - Yes, one of those resolutions that always seem like a distant memory by March...

Gym Technik's NextGen app has been keeping non-Storm BlackBerry users in check, and today they announced the release of their NextGen app for the Storm. Unfortunately, the app doesn't seem to be OS5 compatible yet and the team is still working on releasing for Storm2. Storm2 and OS5 support seems to be set for late January. The NextGen app for the Storm comes bundled with the following features:

  • Build workouts and schedule a routine on the NextGen calendar
  • Start and track workouts (Regular workouts, Circuit workouts, and Cardio workouts)
  • Enter and track body stats such as weight, and body size measurements
  • Upload before/after photos of yourself from your BlackBerry
  • Sync NextGen on your BlackBerry with your Online account

And to celebrate this launch, they're giving out a special one day promo of their premium service to all that upgrade today. I understand this is a pretty cool app, but how can you get a front page story and then not even support most of the storms out there. I don't get it, this is a fail on both the developers and crackberry's part. Call us when you ACTUALLY support the freakin device.

And if you're running 4.7 on a storm. Go download the new 5.0 immediately!!!

Who still has 4.7 on their Storm? Was crackberry paid for this advertisement? Seriously, the official OS has been out for over a month now, and 5.0 leaks and simulators even longer.

You do realize that hundreds of thousands of customers around the world are still using OS 4.7, right? Just because Verizon has updated, doesn't mean other carriers have followed.

I completely agree with the last 2 comments I read on here. Why make such a big fuss about an app that's been released for the Storm running an OS that (as far as I know) should be just about obsolete by now!? OS5 was released quite some time ago. I'd love to try the app, but as most Storm users likely are.. I'm running the new and OFFICIAL OS5. I could see if 4.7 was still the 'official' and people were running leaks.. but it's the real deal now, so lets make the apps compatible. And the discount is offered now? I hope there is a discount when the functional version is released.

Hey all - Our sincere apologies for the delay in the app launch for OS5 and Storm 2. We did originally have the launch date set for this December, but our beta testers had reported some critical bugs to us which prevented us from getting the app out as planned. Our current target for OS5 and Storm 2 is set for mid to late January.

In regards to the launch of this app for the Storm running OS4.x, we did a sample survey of our member base, and to our surprise a lot of members are still running OS4 on the Storm, which of course warranted this release. There have been numerous downloads and we are happy to see we were able to satisfy this user base.

And of course next in line, are all of you with Storm 2, and OS5, and believe me when I say that we are working fast and furious to get the app ready for the rest of you to download. And once again, apologies from our team for missing the original release date...

The site is great I've been using it for over a month. I feel that waiting to fix the bugs is the best, these guys are brutal.. When it is ready just let us know. Thanks and keep on keeping on!
