GroupMe 2.0 for BlackBerry officially released

GroupMe for BlackBerry 2.0

GroupMe, which offers free group text messaging and conference-calling services has rolled out version 2.0 of their BlackBerry app. With it being a milestone update for them, they've added quite a few new features to the already robust cross-platform service:

  • In-app chat -  Send messages over your data connection, entirely within the app. Text as much as you want without hitting your SMS balance.
  • Push notifications - You will get messages as soon as GroupMe receives them.BlackBerry notifications appear in your inbox when you receive new messages.
  • Photo-sharing - Take and share photos with your groups right within the app.
  • An improved, fresh user interface.

You can download the 2.0 update now directly from the GroupMe link below, and it's also now showing as being available for download from BlackBerry App World.

Why does GroupMe still say beta? Is it free for now? Will there be a fee later on?
