Calling all theme lovers. If you're an OS7 owner and searching for another customized style for your device then look no further than iNEW7, the latest release by Walker Themes. Following up on his popular BEAT series, this is another outstanding design. It amazes me what theme developers have been able to accomplish without TB7. iNEW7 brings us one step closer with its sleek look and unique design.
Features
- Custom curved rectangle with illumine effect ICON SET
- Unique AM/PM display (set time to 12hours mode)
- MENU and PANEL background are transparent
- Wallpaper friendly
- Custom Battery & Custom Signal
- Clean, fast, functional, stylish and easy to use
- Homescreen status
- Support landscape mode
- All features on potrait mode work perfectly on landscape mode
As someone who is always on the prowl for the latest and greatest designs I must that after rocking this for the past week, iNEW7 is a must-have. At first glance you can't help but notice the custom icon set. They are pitch perfect and to me icons are a dealbreaker. While some may balk at how similar they appear to that other OS, just know that Walker Themes added their own personal touch to each and every one. This is first and foremost a BlackBerry theme and his little tweaks and shadows reflect that, including the transparent menus and light blue color scheme.
iNEW7 is a great looking theme that is clean, wallpaper friendly, and available for older devices as well so everyone can enjoy. It's compatible with BlackBerry 8350, 8520/30, 8900/10/80, 9300/30/50/60/70/80, 9630/50, 9700/80/88/90, 9800/10/50/60, and 9900/30/81 running OS5 and higher. At the time of this post iNEW7 is currently on sale for $1.99 (regularly $3.99) in BlackBerry App World.

Looks good might actually purchase it. Also how do people have that many unopened emails/messages? It bugs me if there is an notification icon on my home screen.

I know what you mean, if I have notifications I've just got to go and clear them out.

I don't understand why companies leach off the "i" name.
I have an iPod Touch and an iPod nano, I'm not anti-Apple, but anything non-Apple starting with "i" just seems pathetic.

Ha ha... for that reason and that reason along, I am not buying it.

Speaking of themes, I've never used them but downloaded 2 this weekend (the Fresco and the B7i) and noticed that they slowed down my 9930. Nothing major but enough to cause a split second clock between functions which was annoying. Is this normal for themes from you guy's experience?
catberryday May 14, 2012 at 12:51 pm
Did you reboot after switching to either theme? I have Fresco and had no lag or spinning clock. I came from OS5 to OS7 and noticed on OS7 I need to reboot after switching themes to avoid any lag. I don't know if that is because theme builder wasn't used or a normal thing with OS6 and 7.

I downloaded this theme for OS .402 on a 9900. Great theme.... but I´ve had a major memory drain using it... Quite a pitty as the theme is great!!

Be sure to check the theme details before downloading. I don't remember if inew7 was one of them or not but a lot of themes state you need to be running a OS of .5xx or higher for the theme to work properly. I haven't had any issues with the theme causing a memory leak, but my browser and sometimes messages do.

I wonder if they think that putting "i" in front of their product will attract more sales.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the icons are larger than the current ones in OS7 or is that not possible in any theme.
catberryday May 15, 2012 at 3:31 am
These look larger. They are definitely larger than the folder icons. Hope that helps.
BGK May 15, 2012 at 1:01 pm
Yep it does help, I kind of like a slightly larger icon - I thought they looked larger and it's good to know someone else does too. For the price I may just buy it and see.

Ok for anyone interested .... The icons are larger, if you are bored with the look of your currents icons, this will give you a change.
