It’s a PDA dog eat PDA dog world out there and the Blackberry has to be more than just a business tool. The BlackBerry needs to do so much more these days than just push e-mail.
Now, thanks to a new service from QuickPlay Media you can get streaming audio on the Berry. Dubbed QuickPlayer, this subscription-based service grants you access to "over 100 audiocasts".
Among the entertainment you'll have the chance to enjoy are podcasts from ABC News and the Wall Street Journal, which you can tell you co-workers is research. Each news podcasts are expected to be five to seven minutes long each.
The program will run on the 7130e, 8700 series, and the Pearl. Price is $7.96 per month, plus whatever data charges you'd be paying normally. Check with you provider for more information on the service.

Get Streaming Audio from QuickPlayer for the BlackBerry

Wow, real amazing.. now, where can I find something that will play audio streams that I actually want to listen to?!
Also, we need something that will use wifi to connect to streams.

There is a way to listen to streaming radio on the blackberry.. It's a totally free app (data charges from your carrier will apply), but it has several genres of radio stations to choose from. What I want is streaming news!

Good News if you like Conservative Talk:
Go to this: and my Blackberry Tour will play all stations that stream in the mp3 format. Just click on a state, scroll to a station you like, click the mp3, a select to "open" when prompted.
Also, the iheartradio application plays my favorites like ktlk (Minneapolis) and ktok (oklahoma) and wmal (DC) at any time I like. Just saying. Oh, and there is plenty of liberal crap playing too.

It's sad that my brother can listen to streaming audio from radio stations on his Motorola Q phone, and my blackberry pearl cannot....
