Thanks Blaize! I got a 32 gig Playbook for Christmas from my family! We have all been enjoying it a lot.

I enjoy how it has the Developer 2.0 Build installed with a near dead battery, no Bridge and it looks like Development Mode is on 0_o

Playbook rocks - 2.0 and a few more key apps and this thing will compete well. Hope RiM does a re-launch!

I received the 32GB PlayBook and am finding it is supper. Been wanting one since they came out but couldn't afford. Now I find myself reading all I can about it and BlackBerry (RIM) is here to stay.

I have been owing one since back to April. I'm still trying to find what is cool about it. I own an IPad and and Galaxie 10.1 as well. Back here in Edmonton they are all on Kijiji. So please bring update quick before Future shop and Best Buy sell them at 1$. And we get stuck with a paper weight. I bought the Playbook first to support a Canadian compagnie sadly it was a mistake at the time paying over 800 with waranty when they are now 250.00 for a 32 GB at Future Shop.

there's about 120 on Kijiji all are for sale above retail looks like they thought they could make a quick profit conversely there over 400 IPads for sale.

hey, thanks.
I'd ordered a 32GB Pb just a few days ago with destined arrival of tomorrow :)
So this articel is perfect timing for me ;)
BTW Amazon.de is now selling PBs with a reduced price of 259 EUR for the 32 and 299 EUR for the 64GB version.
It's still a high price compared to the prices you guys got but they sold the PBs 16GB version still for 370 EUR!
I probably should have ordered the 64GB as this is only 40 bugs more but at the moment I didn't see I need so much space (as I already have almost 40 in my 9900 ;) )

i gave my wife a 32gb playbook for christmas since she seemed to borrow mine with increasing regularity. she owns an ipad too but found she never brought it to her office mainly because it was too big for her purse. she also hated using her ipad when the site had lots of flash content. needless to say she was extremely pleased to receive a playbook as a gift.
so with two playbooks side by side, i decided to start up the video chat. i did notice that the video image on her playbook during the chat was noticeably clearer and less "pixelly".
both playbooks are on the latest os versions. i already checked if there were video settings on the chat app, but didn't see any.
does anyone have any suggestions? or know of any changes to the playbooks that would account for the better image on newer models?
thanks in advance.

One obvious possibility is the quality of the network connection. A slower network connection will result in a poorer signal and more pixelation. WiFi is very tempermental, and if your router supports B, G, and N, you will need to ensure that both are connected to the same "network" and frequency (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz).
In other words, there are many factors at stake here, you just have to eliminate them one by one to find the root cause.

Thanks. Both playbooks were connected simultaneously to the same home network to address that possibility. As well, I also did the same "test" on another network. Connected both playbooks and held them beside each other so they broadcast the exact same image. Same results.
Not a big deal at all. Just out of curiousity if nothing else.
I'll just swap my playbook for hers...she won't know the difference ;o)

There is a new model coming, probably lined up with February's major software upgrade. It's probably going to be the long awaited 4G model, I'm sure. There will be a re-launch of the product too. Lots of exciting stuff to come. Stay tuned :)

Yes.
Why did you even bother posting here? Lame.

using a mac to show how to setup a network between your desk top and playbook is totally useless to the majority of people who don't own a mac..... The title should be how to set up network sharing on your mac.

Thanks, Bla1ze. Definitely needed!!!
